When you hear 'essence', you might think of a thicker consistency. But this one is more like a toner. I usually have a lot of dead skin cells, so I typically use an exfoliating toner. However, since I started using Vegan Effect, I don't even need to exfoliate anymore!

While it might be a bit light for winter use, it's perfect as an essence for the summer months!

My first impression was that it feels more like a toner than a typical essence! It's refreshing and hydrating without any oiliness, just pure moisture.

I've been using it with an exfoliating cotton pad, and I was amazed that it caused absolutely no irritation, even on areas where I've extracted blemishes. Usually, I feel a tingling sensation when using an exfoliating toner after extraction, but true to its claim of 0.00 irritation index, I didn't feel any discomfort at all.

It works great as a toner mask on troubled areas or on the cheeks to boost hydration before makeup application.

When used as part of my night care routine, I wake up to noticeably smoother and softer skin in the morning!

When used together with a gel cleanser, you can manage both dead skin cells and skin texture, resulting in soft and hydrated skin! It worked well for my husband's sensitive, oily skin, and also for my very dry skin!

There's absolutely nothing disappointing about the product itself, but the price... that's another story. Since we both use it, we went through two bottles quickly. When I went to repurchase, I saw there was no discount, which was a bit daunting. Please have more sales!

I apply this right after washing my face, and my husband's usually dry skin has become smoother and more hydrated. Before, when we'd do a skin pack followed by ampoule and moisturizer, his skin was just hydrated. But now, with the barley essence applied first, his skin feels firmer, which is great!

After cleansing in the morning, I apply some to a cotton pad and wipe my face once. Then I put a bit more on my palms and pat it in to absorb. That's all I need for my skincare routine. My skin isn't dry at all, and makeup applies beautifully on top.

There's nothing to complain about. I'm extremely satisfied using this product.

It's delightfully plump and moisturizing. Even with just this product alone, my skin doesn't feel dry at all.
