Since it's oily, I shake it before use. It feels like it coats my skin with hydration as the first step in my routine. I bought it as a set with serum and cream because it's supposed to act as a booster, helping the next serum step absorb better. The disappointing part is the opening. Because it's oily, it flows quickly, making it a bit tricky to pat onto my hands in small amounts. I wish it would change to a pump-type bottle.

I have thick, resilient skin (even dermatologist-approved!) and I've tried various treatments like air-jet, MTS, and Fraxel. I also regularly get laser treatments like Liftera, InMode, and Ultherapy every quarter. For my skincare routine, in summer I use IOPE essence, followed by Innisfree Green Tea essence, and finish with a gel moisturizer. In winter, I layer IOPE essence, Biotherm Plankton essence, Aestura Cica essence, and top it off with Cica moisturizer. My summer/winter routines weren't created overnight - they're the result of many tearful trials and errors... haha! The most recent addition to my routine is this Plankton essence. Oh my, before this, I really struggled with dryness at work, even with a humidifier. But now that I use this... I honestly don't need anything else! I'm so satisfied that I've been spreading the word everywhere! Maybe it's because I'm easy-going, but the scent that many people complain about doesn't bother me at all. I love using it! The lightweight texture absorbs quickly, giving an instant glow. While some people have mixed feelings about the scent, I personally enjoyed it. I wish the packaging came in an airless pump bottle rather than a glass jar. It works well when used together with a repair cream.

It really helps with deep dryness! I've been using it consistently. Many reviews mentioned an unpleasant scent, but I find it tolerable.
