I don't really like doing base or color makeup, so unless it's a really important day, I don't wear much makeup. But this product is like putting on sunscreen - I can just do my basic skincare and use this as the last step anytime. If Missha were to discontinue this and the purple ampoule, I would confidently go to the Able C&C headquarters and stage a one-person protest by lying down in front of it. (My skin type tends to be combination, sometimes oily and sometimes dry. Please take this into account when reviewing the product.) 1. Packaging & Texture: The packaging is a pump-type container with a subtle brown gradient. To be honest, even now it has a bit of a traditional Korean medicine cosmetic design, but before the renewal, it was undeniably an old lady(...)cosmetic design. If you're curious, you can search for the pre-renewal packaging design on Hwahae. When you pump out the product, a small amount of cream comes out of the dispenser. The texture is not watery, but a firm cream, so it's very easy to dispense an appropriate amount onto your hand or a brush and spread it evenly on your face.2. Spreadability & Coverage: This is the overwhelming advantage of this product. Whether you apply it with your fingers or a brush, it glides on smoothly without any residue or heaviness. Of course, you shouldn't expect a dewy, liquid foundation-like finish, as this product is formulated for combination to oily skin types, so a matte texture is to be expected. The coverage is beyond that of a BB cream, and I would say it's a tailor-made base makeup for oily skin types. I've tried various base makeup products from brands like Bé Xhâm, Touche Peau, Ohui, Laneige, and Hera, and while some of them were decent or good, none of them surpassed this Missha product. Depending on how you apply it, just one layer can cover most blemishes, pores, and redness, and if you apply a second layer, it can even cover dark circles and the like. (No need for more than two layers, and in fact, two layers are usually enough to cover any face makeup concerns.) Unless Missha starts making nonsense products or I completely change to a dry skin type, I don't see myself ever straying from this product.3. Longevity: This is the second overwhelming advantage. To put it simply, there is no breakdown of the makeup! Of course, it's not completely flawless, but any breakdown is so minimal that you'd have to get up close to a mirror to even notice it. My usual routine is to apply this Missha Cho Bo Yang BB cream over my final skincare cream and a light layer of sun protection, and then set it with the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray before going out. With this routine, I can go over 12 hours without needing any touch-ups or corrections. And this is on my oily skin! Those with extremely oily skin may want to add a powder on top as well. 4. Gentle Formula: This is the third overwhelming advantage. As mentioned, I can wear just this BB cream in the morning without any touch-ups, and then remove it at night without experiencing any breakouts or issues. I've had experiences with other foundation products causing me to break out the next day, but I've never had that problem with this Missha product. However, this is based on my combination to oily skin type. Those with dry skin may find the matte finish to be drying, which I'll discuss in the cons section.
ConsIn fact, before my military service, my skin was quite glowing and radiant, and I haven't found a better base product than this. Even now, aside from the slight transfer, I can't find any downsides to this product for me. Therefore, you can consider the first downside as common for all skin types, and the second downside as specific to dry skin. 1. Transfer: Well, some degree of transfer is inevitable in base makeup products (I've never come across a base product that claims to have zero transfer and actually lives up to that claim. If you know of such a product, please share your insights, as I would be very grateful to learn about it...). However, the transfer with this product is significantly less compared to other base products. But on days when I wear a white top, I do have to be very careful to avoid the product transferring onto the neckline. 2. Matte finish (for dry skin): The overwhelming longevity and adherence, along with the dense, cream-like texture, means that the product absorbs and even exceeds the oil content of the skin. This would work very well for combination to oily skin types, but for those with dry skin, it may lead to a feeling of dryness or accentuation of flakiness over time. For those with dry skin, Missha has some more hydrating products, and there are many options from other brands that I would recommend exploring.
TipI pump about 1-2 times on the back of my hand, then dab it onto the T-zone, cheeks, chin, and neck with my fingers. I then spread it out evenly with a Missha brush to finish. If you also use a makeup fixer (I personally use the Urban x Key fixer) or powder, you'll have a long-lasting base that won't budge all day. This is my first review of a makeup product rather than a skincare item, and since I'm so fond of this product, I've ended up writing a lengthy review. I hope Missha doesn't discontinue this, even if they don't put it on sale often. haha

However, when I use this product, it provides good coverage.
ConsAs time passes, it develops a grayish cast and tends to transfer onto my mask easily.

The color might look dark at first, but it brightens up beautifully when applied! I love how it enhances my complexion. Even with all the mask-wearing lately that's been wreaking havoc on our skin, this doesn't pill or clump at all! I'd recommend this for all skin types!
ConsThe only downside is that it transfers quite a bit. It's a bit embarrassing having to cover up every time I take off my mask...

Still, it's great for covering blemishes... I think it'll be good for occasional outings.
ConsI remember liking it when I used it a long time ago. But as expected, foundation is way better than BB cream. I was curious about the renewed version... but it fell slightly short of expectations. It's too oily and transfers easily...
TipI'm planning to mix it with foundation... but my foundation already has a pink tone...
