  Pros

  This is the first time I've tried a body product in this type of packaging. Fortunately, it didn't tear before I finished using it all. The texture is surprisingly light, applying smoothly like an emulsion. I was taken aback by its yellow color, but it didn't stain my clothes. The scent is a sweet vanilla with a hint of aromatic notes. The fragrance lingers subtly. The hydration isn't bad either.

  Cons

  The packaging itself is inconvenient. It absorbs slowly, so you need to apply it to your skin and roll it in thoroughly.

  I bought this famous product from Japan, though the name is slightly different there. The application and hydration are great. It's thick at first but absorbs nicely, leaving skin moisturized without stickiness. It's a bit dry for winter, but perfect for other seasons. The scent is a mix of vanilla and citrus peel. While I personally didn't love it (I prefer woody scents like Aesop's Tacit), fragrance preferences vary. It's yellow and leaves a slight white cast initially, but absorbs quickly when rubbed in. Aesop is pricey, but nice for an occasional treat. I found it gentle with no blemishes.

  The packaging can be frustrating - sometimes the lid doesn't close properly and just spins.

  I loved the scent so much that I bought the large size... I guess I didn't think it through.

  Cons

  However... I broke out in hives all over my body. It was a severe reaction everywhere, and at first, I didn't realize it was because of this body balm, so I kept applying it until I figured it out. I noticed there was another review mentioning hives too. I should have read the reviews before buying. My skin isn't sensitive at all, and I rarely get blemishes - it's very healthy. I've never been prone to allergies, so please don't think 'I don't have sensitive skin, so I'll be fine.' You might end up experiencing a $100 case of hives. Take it from someone with super sensitive skin now.

  First off, the scent... it's absolutely divine. I bought it immediately after smelling it, as it has that signature Aesop aroma that seems to be plucked straight from nature. I find it particularly delightful when used in combination with the Marrakech perfume.

  Cons

  Considering the price, I'm not sure if the hydration or other benefits are as noticeable as one might expect. The texture is also slightly thick, which means it takes a bit of time to spread and absorb into the skin.
