I was worried about the smell due to the sulfur content, but it's actually fragrance-free. As for its effectiveness, I'm not quite sure yet. The soap didn't seem to lather well, perhaps because my skin was too dry. Since I found it bothersome to work up a lather, I tried grating the soap and soaking it in water. It turned into a cream-like consistency. If you find using soap tedious, pre-dissolving it might be a convenient option. - sk**********Dry SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 27, 2024
I was worried the soap might be too small for shower use, but I was pleasantly surprised by its generous size. Although I haven't used it much yet, the ingredients are gentle, and despite containing sulfur, it's still mild on the skin. While I appreciate the bar soap format, I'd love to see a body wash version in a bottle for hygiene reasons. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 2, 2024
It's incredibly effective for back acne. Although it's a bit drying since it's a soap, the results for body blemishes are so impressive that I don't mind. After washing, if I follow up with a blemish mist, the effectiveness doubles. Now I only have faint marks left, and no new blemishes are appearing. Being a soap, it does cause some dryness. Also, no matter where I order from, the shipping is frustratingly slow. - ye********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 29, 2024
1. The ingredients are generally good quality 2. As an environmentally conscious brand, the packaging is eco-friendly 3. Great for that squeaky clean feeling in summer 1. I bought it because sulfur is supposed to be good for blemishes, but I couldn't find any difference from regular soap.. - ur*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 29, 2024
Being a soap, it gave me a sense of becoming healthier somehow. I love that it's an eco-friendly product. It wore down faster than I expected. The price doesn't seem to be on the cheaper side. - qm****Dry SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMar 14, 2024
I originally loved the Tone 28 soap line, especially the Houttuynia Cordata and Noni varieties, but for some reason - maybe a change in ingredients or my skin condition - they started causing blemishes. So I switched to this soap, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! I was worried that the salt might irritate my sensitive skin, but there's been no issue at all. It's fantastic at removing dead skin cells and even cleans out blackheads incredibly well. Most cleansers I've used don't effectively remove blackheads, so I've had to use a separate cleansing oil. But this product, despite being gentle, has excellent cleansing effectiveness. There are no downsides. It leaves the skin feeling slightly dry after use, but it's so gentle that even in winter, you won't feel any significant deep dryness. - lo****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 20, 2023
It cleanses effectively and helps remove excess oil and dead skin cells. The texture feels refreshing on the skin. It can be drying after use. Those with dry skin types might want to avoid this product. - ad*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 3, 2023
The brand's eco-conscious philosophy inspired me to try soap-based products! While I was hesitant to try soap shampoos due to potential hair issues, I thought a body wash would be a great starting point. That's how Tone 28's product became my first soap body wash. Key advantages include: - Minimized plastic use in packaging and ingredients - Biodegradable - No added preservatives These eco-friendly features really make this product stand out. Price: While eco-friendly soap products are often quite expensive, Tone 28 seems more affordable compared to others. They frequently have discounts on Hwahae, which is great! It doesn't seem to compromise on ingredients or sustainability either, which makes me like it even more. This would be perfect for beginners or as a thoughtful gift. Cleansing Effectiveness: Perhaps the most crucial aspect - it cleanses thoroughly, as expected from a soap-based product. It also lathers up really well! Scent: I was pleasantly surprised that it's almost unscented. I actually prefer this lack of fragrance, which is why I've included it as a positive point. There aren't really any negatives, but if I had to choose one, it might be a slight dryness. However, the positives far outweigh this, and the dryness can easily be addressed with a good body emulsion after showering. So, I'd say there are no real drawbacks! Although it's a soap-based product, using a mesh sponge or loofah creates an even richer lather and gives a more thorough cleansing sensation. Also, I highly recommend applying a body emulsion after showering for best results. - pu*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 16, 2023
I discovered this soap while searching for a gentle cleanser that wouldn't irritate my skin during my morning routine. I'm pleased with its kind-to-skin ingredients and the fact that it doesn't leave my face feeling tight after washing. Being a bar-type product, it seems to get used up rather quickly. I wish it was on sale more often. - go*********Oily SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 6, 2022
I'm trying this soap because I thought the sulfur hot spring water might be good for my skin. It doesn't irritate my skin at all. It lathers well, and sometimes I catch a scent reminiscent of honeycomb. I think it's helping improve my skin texture. Some people say it's drying, but I guess it varies from person to person! It works fine for me. I love using this deep yellow soap - it always puts me in a good mood! The square shape ensures it wears down evenly, which is great. I've heard that liquid cleansers tend to have more potentially harmful ingredients, and I'm concerned about the plastic packaging too. Tone 28 seems like a brand that promotes healthy beauty practices that are easy to maintain and eco-friendly. I appreciate that. I'm hopeful that the all-paper packaging might make a small positive impact on the environment. There's nothing I dislike or find inconvenient about it. If anything, I wish I could try all of Tone 28's different soaps faster! If you're wearing makeup, I recommend doing a first cleanse with a cleansing oil that suits your skin type, followed by this sulfur soap. It gets rid of all those stubborn blackheads and leaves your skin feeling super smooth! It's also great as a body wash - just lather it up with a shower puff.
