If I had to pick something, the packaging is quite luxurious, making it suitable as a gift. The overall experience wasn't terrible, and there seemed to be a slight brightening effect immediately after use.
ConsFirst off, the price... I wouldn't personally spend this much on this soap. There are already plenty of cleansers with similar functions, and I'm not sure what specific benefit this soap is supposed to provide. As someone with dry skin, my face feels unbearably tight after using it. Also, I'm not sure if it's irritating, but during and after use, my face stings so much during skincare that I initially thought it was some kind of detoxifying effect. But it's not - it just feels like my already dry skin is getting even drier and more irritated. Moreover, the soap dissolves too quickly when wet, becoming mushy. Considering the high price, it seems wastefully short-lived. While proper drying could help, it takes quite a long time to dry, making storage a challenge.
TipOverall, I feel this soap would be more suitable for those with oily skin rather than dry. If you have dry skin and want to use it, once a week might be best. The instructions say to leave it on for 60 seconds and massage while rinsing, but that makes it really stinging and drying. I found it least irritating and most comfortable to leave it on for about 10-15 seconds and then just rinse off with water. Used this way, it's not bad as a cleanser. For storage, a flat soap case works better than a bumpy one. I kept mine in a takeout container for pickled radish, and while the part resting on the case did get a bit hollowed out, it was generally fine. The key seems to be minimizing its exposure to water as much as possible.

First, let me describe my skin type: I have combination to oily skin, especially in the T-zone, and I'm concerned about enlarged pores and blackheads on my nose. Delivery and Packaging: When I first received this solid mask, I was impressed with the packaging. I appreciate the eco-friendly approach, both in terms of the packaging and the soap-like format of the product itself, which reduces plastic usage. It feels good to contribute to the planet, even in this small way! Size and Quantity: The product is slightly larger and chunkier than your average household soap. Since you don't use a large amount at once, it should last for quite a while. User Experience: I primarily used this on my nose and T-zone, about every 2-3 days. As it needs to be soaked before use, I found it more convenient to use in the evening rather than during busy mornings. While using it, I didn't feel like it was sloughing off dead skin cells, but rather it felt more like an oil cleanser, gently drawing out sebum. After rinsing, my skin felt a bit dry, so I made sure to follow up quickly with my skincare routine. Although I had to write this review after a relatively short period of use, my impression so far is that there haven't been any dramatic effects. I haven't seen significant improvements in exfoliation or sebum control yet. However, I did notice a slight tightening of my pores after using the solid mask, so I plan to continue using it consistently.
ConsSince this product involves rubbing your nose for about a minute during cleansing, it can cause some skin irritation, resulting in slight redness and a tingling sensation. The soap needs to be soaked before use, and because it's black in color, I had to use a separate soap dish. It didn't lather up as easily as I expected, often producing more foam than actual product. This seems to be a limitation of its formulation. Also, I felt the product quantity was too much, and the price felt a bit steep. I'd prefer if they offered a smaller size for sale.
TipIt might be a good idea to cut the product into smaller pieces for use, and getting a dedicated soap dish would make it more convenient to use. Personally, I massaged the foam with my hands and then used a cotton pad (like a cleansing tissue) to gently massage and wipe it off. This seems to be one of the effective methods for exfoliation, so I thought I'd share it!

I quietly applied to be a Hwahae Tester for this black sugar soap that claims to cleanse and act as a mask at the same time. 💛First impression... I was truly impressed! Since it was my first use and I needed to write an honest review, I used it more meticulously. Following another reviewer's tip, I lightly wet the soap to create a 'essence', and when I rubbed it on my skin, it felt different from regular soap - kind of sticky and slippery. It felt great to apply it all over my face, then focus on exfoliating and massaging areas with dead skin cells...! After about 3 minutes, I rinsed it off, and from that moment, my skin felt incredibly smooth with a refined texture. I was worried the black soap might not rinse off well, but my squeaky clean skin proved otherwise! After use, I applied toner and emulsion, and my skin felt so plump! Extremely satisfied with my first use 👍👍 💛Second use.. As expected, it's great! I used it again after two or three days. Skin texture refinement - check, and as my skin texture improved, it started to glow. However, possibly because it's soap, it left a slightly dry feeling, so you need to follow up with skincare immediately. Otherwise, your skin might feel tight. But this is common with most cleansing products, so it's not a major concern! 🧡Conclusion after 1-2 uses.. For plump skin and texture refinement, black sugar soap is the way to go.
Cons💙 There was a slight disappointment during my third use.. I used the soap again the day after my second use. Oops, my skin felt a bit tingly.. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend using it every 2-3 days rather than daily. Still, seeing how soft my skin becomes after use makes it forgivable..hehe (The brand's other soap, called 'Green Sugar Soap', is said to have a soothing effect~ I haven't tried it, but it might be good for sensitive skin. I'll try it next time!) 💙 My precious soap.. is disappearing. Make sure to take it out and dry it quickly after use.. When you lather the soap and rub it with your hands, quite a lot of 'essence' comes out, so you can visibly see the soap getting smaller. Since it's a bit pricey, if you want to make it last as long as possible, you'll need to take good care of the soap.
TipThis soap is really excellent for massaging..! Other cleansers dry out while massaging your face, but this one has a slippery, sticky, unique texture that doesn't dry out during massage. You can comfortably massage your V-line, cheekbones, smile lines, and between your brows. Of course, cleansing might take longer. But doing a massage, cleanse, and mask all at once? If it's effective, 60 seconds? Nah, I could invest 5 or even 10 minutes. However, don't overdo it as it might irritate your skin if used for too long.

Scent: Expected it might be polarizing based on the name But surprisingly pleasant, milder than traditional herbal cosmetics and not artificial Skin Radiance: Rather than adding shine, it brightens the complexion Pore Elasticity: Likely needs long-term use to see significant effects Moisture and Nourishment: Skin doesn't feel dry or tight after use Dead Skin Cell Removal: Seems effective, possibly due to the massaging action during application
ConsUsage Time: Takes a while to dissolve, which can be inconvenient Be careful using it for morning cleansing as it might get under your nails Sensitivity: Felt a tingling sensation when left on for over 60 seconds (while taking photos and smelling it)
TipAs it's a solid mask, make sure to keep it dry Even if stored in the bathroom, occasionally let it air dry in a shaded area
