On humid days, a light mist of this toner alone seems to provide excellent hydration!
ConsSo far, I can't really think of any downsides. However, it feels quite lightweight, so those with dry skin might find it less satisfying for their needs.

The mist format makes it convenient to use.
ConsThe pump is a bit flimsy, sometimes causing uneven spraying. While it does provide immediate hydration, the effect doesn't last very long.

Seems to provide good hydration and control oil well.
ConsThe pump is a bit hard to press. Other than that, I don't have any particular complaints.
TipI just spray it on liberally.

I was lucky enough to win this product and received it via delivery. First off, it's quite large, larger than I expected, and the glass case has a subtle green tint that's really beautiful! When I opened the lid, I found it was a spray format, and overall, it gave me the impression of... well, a rather large perfume bottle. Upon spraying and smelling it, I noticed a scent reminiscent of men's locker room skincare products mixed with a cotton perfume fragrance! Functionally speaking: 1) Hydration/Oil: Overall, it's a bit on the dry side. I have oily skin, and I found it to be powdery (slightly dry), so those with dry skin might... well, they might not love it. 2) Skin Soothing/Sensitivity: After winning, I checked the ingredients and saw alcohol listed, which made me worry about potential irritation. However, perhaps due to its low concentration, I didn't experience any irritation! 3) Texture: Generally, it has a somewhat dry (oil-controlling) feel, so it's difficult to spread smoothly after spraying. You can only pat it in to absorb! I'd say it's closer to a powdery finish. To sum up, when you spray it, there's a whoosh of perfume-like scent, and as you pat it in, your skin becomes powdery. As time passes, it controls oil, so your skin doesn't feel greasy. There's an ingredient that strengthens blood vessels, and maybe because of that, I felt like my skin became more resilient overall!
ConsThe downsides are: 1) Price: I acknowledge the volume, but for a toner without significant benefits, the price is jaw-dropping. 2) Scent: The fragrance might be polarizing. Sometimes in the morning, I found it a bit overwhelming. 3) Spray: The spray mechanism isn't great. It should disperse evenly over a wide area, but even spraying from a distance, you need about 5 sprays to cover your whole face. Worse yet, when you pat it in, some areas get too much product while others get almost none.
TipIt might work better if you hold it at a distance and press the nozzle firmly for a strong spray.

First off, the spray mist format makes it incredibly convenient to use. Just spritz and gently pat it in. Secondly, it absorbs exceptionally well. Within seconds, it's fully absorbed without leaving any residue. Lastly, its hydrating power is outstanding. Despite quick absorption, it provides excellent moisture, leaving your skin feeling wonderfully soft and supple. I particularly dislike stickiness after application, but this product leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean, which I absolutely love.
ConsThe downside is that the fragrance is quite strong. While scent preferences are personal, I think they should consider changing the fragrance of this product. To me, it smells too much like an old-fashioned men's aftershave. This aspect definitely needs improvement.
TipWhile this product is excellent for quick soothing and hydration after shaving, I've found it's also great for combating dryness after washing hands. Thanks to its ease of use and non-sticky texture, I often use it as a hand cream alternative. Let's be honest, regular hand creams can leave your hands feeling greasy. But this product? Once you try it, you'll see how amazing it is.

Since most men don't keep cotton pads on hand, it was perfect for applying toner without touching the skin. It was also great for a quick spritz when feeling dry. The ample hydration was impressive. I took this to my college entrance exam, as I get very dry in cold weather and was worried. A couple of sprays during breaks kept my skin from feeling parched. I usually use Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Cream and Medicube Red Erasing Cream. After using Hazzys Men's Rule toner, I noticed these products, which typically don't absorb well, had much better absorption.
ConsWhile I appreciated the spray nozzle, it felt a bit stiff to press with just the index finger. If this is common across products, it might need improvement. Like most men's products, it has that stereotypical 'old man' scent. I noticed it was slightly different, but most people probably won't catch the nuance. Given that a senior British perfumer created the fragrance, you'd need their level of expertise to truly appreciate the difference. So, I wouldn't recommend this to those who dislike that typical masculine scent.
TipSince the product volume is quite large for men's use, it was also great for using as a mask by soaking cotton pads with it.

Before I start, please note that I have oily skin that doesn't need much hydration even in winter. Positives: 1. The fragrance is amazing. It's so good that I'm not sure if it's a toner or a fabric perfume. While I can't pinpoint exactly what it reminds me of, it has a very refreshing scent. It's somewhat like aloe, or maybe a cool ocean or mountain stream? However, true to being a toner, the scent fades after about 3 minutes. 2. The spray format is convenient. Usually after cleansing, I have to wipe my face with a cotton pad soaked in toner due to dead skin cells. With this product, I can just spray it on my face and pat it in, and the dead skin cells disappear. Also, the spray format makes it easy to mist your face whenever it feels dry. 3. It's effective for skin soothing. Especially for me, using toner after shaving used to sting, but the Hazzys Men Rule doesn't sting at all. I could feel it gently calming my skin.
Cons1. The size is quite large, making it difficult to hold with one hand. My hand size is just right for a Note 9, but the bottle is too big to comfortably hold and spray directly onto my face with one hand. 2. The price is quite high. Considering that the Dokdo Toner is 500ml for around 20,000 won, is there a compelling reason to buy this product? Of course, every product has its pros and cons, but in terms of value for money, this seems to be a drawback. 3. The spray nozzle must have been damaged during shipping, as there's a crack in the spray channel. When I try to spray it, the product leaks out of the crack instead of coming out as a mist. (I solved this by transferring it to an empty bottle.)
TipAlthough the product instructions say to spray it onto your hands and then apply to your face, I find it more effective to spray directly onto the face - once on the forehead, once on the nose, and once on each cheek. It's good to transfer some into an empty travel-sized bottle for convenient misting when your skin feels dry. The original bottle is too large to carry around easily.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsReview from The Hwahae Testers: First off, there are many positives! Great for soothing the skin! As it's a spray-type like a mist, I used it as both a mist and toner. Why? Well, I have oily skin in summer, but in this dry weather, I transform into sensitive combination skin. My cheeks tend to get very dry. As you can see in my photo, I consistently used only this toner on skin with blemishes that appeared after shaving. As a soothing toner, after 3 days of use, blemishes that were about to form pus started to subside. After about 5 days, they flattened out, leaving only slight discoloration. Also, I have sensitive skin, so I'm in the process of finding suitable skincare products. It absorbs well! Being a spray-type like a mist, I spray it directly on my face and pat it in a few times - absorption complete! No dryness felt after absorption. After application, there's a fresh feeling that men tend to like. I prefer a moisturized feel, but most people might like this freshness. Toner scent: The scent is really nice! I like fragrances that spread subtly, and this one is truly lovely. It's like a cool breeze, if that makes sense. Anyway, the scent is great. Hydration: It's unrealistic to expect full hydration from a toner alone in this weather. Considering the toner by itself, the hydration is good, but I felt dryness on my cheeks soon after going outside. Price-to-performance ratio: I'll give it a middle rating. It's not too expensive, but with many high-performance toners at good price points these days, I think it's just appropriate for its price. Personally, I don't think it's outstanding for its price.
ConsDrawbacks: The instruction to use immediately within 5 seconds after cleansing is hard to follow. The recommended amount of 2 sprays is far from enough. Is your face the size of a fist? If you spray once on each cheek, you can barely feel it when you touch your face. The usage method suggests direct spray on face or spray on hands then gently pat to absorb? Two sprays on the hand absorb before you can even pat your face. What am I applying? Those who've tried might understand. So I ignored the instructions. Sorry about that! Hydration: I think it's a good toner for oily skin or summer use. In fall and winter, I have combination skin and my cheeks get very dry. I used only this toner for an honest review. It lacks moisture. After cleansing and using the toner, my skin feels slightly powdery. It's a fresh toner that absorbs well. But! After being outside for a while, my skin feels tight. So I carried it around and sprayed it like a mist in the restroom. I used it as both a mist and toner. You need to spray at least 5-6 times to feel like you're actually applying something. In my case, it should be used as a summer toner or as a mist-cum-toner.
TipHere's a tip! The mist-type packaging is nice. You can use it as both a toner and mist. But considering the price, you might hesitate to use it just as a mist. It's great as a summer toner, good for oil and moisture balance. I don't recommend spraying it on your hands. I suggest spraying directly on your face or using a cotton pad. It might be better if used within 5 seconds after cleansing as instructed. That's all for my detailed review!

As a man, I don't typically use men's products because of their strong scents, so I avoid 'homme' lines. When I saw this new release from Hazzys, I was curious and applied for a test. Luckily, I was selected and got to try it out. This skin and after-shaving product comes in a mist format, which is really convenient. 1. Spray power - This is crucial for mist products. I have dry skin, so I use high-end department store mists and fixers. While some have great formulas, their spray can feel unpleasant, like a camel spitting. However, the Hazzys Refreshing Toner has an even and pleasant spray, which I really appreciate. It seems designed for those who don't use cotton pads. The only downside is that the nozzle is a bit stiff, making it slightly inconvenient to press. This could use some improvement. 2. Scent - There's a slight aloe scent mixed with the typical cool fragrance of men's cosmetics. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this type of scent... Fortunately, it doesn't linger too long. The strong notes fade quickly, leaving behind a subtle fragrance. Still, since I'm not fond of this kind of scent, I deducted one star. 3. Overall impression - I have super sensitive skin, so I only use electric shavers. Even then, I sometimes get blemishes. Although I haven't used this product long-term yet, when I spray it on my face, it feels moisturizing and seems to calm my skin. The denatured alcohol in the ingredients list is a bit concerning, but so far, I haven't experienced any major issues like pimples. This would be especially great for those who wet shave. It's perfect for quickly spritzing on irritated skin in the morning, just like using a face mist!
ConsThe downsides, as mentioned above, are the stiff container and the strong, cooooool scent. If you're sensitive to fragrances, you might want to think twice...
TipDepending on the situation, you could also soak a cotton pad generously with the product and place it on red, irritated areas to soothe the skin.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThe woody and smoky lemon-lime scent is subtle and pleasant, not overpowering like some harsh toners. It truly lives up to its 'refreshing' name. The woody notes aren't too heavy or mature, making it perfect for men in their 20s and 30s. While it may not be exceptional in terms of hydration, it didn't cause any blemishes. As someone with super sensitive skin and atopic dermatitis, I'm quite particular about ingredients. The fact that I didn't experience any issues suggests they've used decent components.
Cons1. Spray Performance: This was a major letdown. The nozzle is stiff and the spray is weak, more like a single stream than a fine mist. It reminds me of those cheap spray candies from childhood (to be clear, I'm criticizing the sprayer, not the toner itself). For a spray product, it falls far short of its intended purpose. If you're buying a spray toner to avoid touching your face, this isn't the one. It might have been better as a regular toner. The $3 sprayer from 'that store' works much better, honestly. 2. Value and Unclear Positioning: While this might have been good value before, there are now many affordable products with great ingredients. It's neither a fragrance nor exceptional in terms of hydration or practicality, leaving me questioning its worth at this price point. It's just... average? Overall, it seems to occupy an awkward position in the market. 3. Denatured Alcohol: While not classified as an allergen, it's high on the ingredient list, suggesting a significant amount. It may provide a refreshing feel for oily skin but could irritate sensitive skin. I didn't experience major issues, but individual reactions may vary. Final Verdict: It could have been a decent convertible toner with a nice scent if priced lower, but the spray issue is a major drawback. Out of 5 stars, I'm deducting 1 for the poor spray and 1 for value, leaving it at 3 stars.
TipIf you enjoy the subtle woody, slightly smoky lemon-lime scent, consider using it as a skin fragrance rather than for hydration. Apply it as a final step after your emulsion to preserve the scent longer.
