Perhaps due to the peppermint oil, it feels even more refreshing.
ConsThere's some excess powder and it can be drying, so only use it for 10 minutes! The cooling effect is intense, and possibly due to the peppermint oil, it might be too much for those with super sensitive skin.

As soon as you apply it, it feels cool, almost cold. After using it, you can really feel your skincare products absorbing better! I always use it before important days - if you apply plenty of hydrating ampoules or creams and then use this mask, your makeup goes on beautifully the next day. It's great at controlling heat, which is amazing for me since I struggle with severe redness. Even using it once on days when my face feels particularly hot makes the redness disappear completely!
ConsSince it's diatomaceous earth-based, I think it might be too drying for those with dry skin if used frequently. I have combination skin leaning towards oily, but even I felt it getting dry after 15 minutes. Also, as with most modeling masks, it can be tricky to use at first - from getting the water ratio right to applying it on your face. That's a bit of a downside. But you do get used to handling it with practice!
TipIf you apply a thick layer of cream before the mask, it comes off easily with almost no residue, and your skin feels soft as the products absorb during the masking time! If you leave it on for too long and the edges dry out, it might leave a powder-like residue, but this can be easily wiped away with a damp toner pad. The key to modeling masks is getting the water ratio right - I found that a 1:1.5 ratio of powder to water makes it just thick enough to not drip down your face. It's easier to apply when it's thicker rather than runny, so I recommend adding water little by little to get the right consistency.

I'll definitely use it more often in summer. The large size makes it super cost-effective. It comes with a rubber bowl, measuring cup, and spatula, so you don't need to buy anything extra. Just use the included measuring cup to scoop one spoonful into the bowl, add an equal amount of water, mix well, and apply it to your face (1:1 ratio!).
ConsThe recommended time is 10-20 minutes, but you should adjust according to your skin type. For my skin, it dries and hardens in just 7-8 minutes, so I remove it right away. I've tried leaving it on for over 10 minutes, but it actually felt a bit drying. At first, I found it difficult to apply, but you'll get the hang of it with practice.
TipAfter cleansing, I use toner -> serum -> modeling mask -> remove mask -> toner again -> serum -> moisturizer. In skincare clinics or dermatology offices, they sometimes apply a sheet mask, then gauze, and then the modeling mask on top (this apparently helps the sheet mask absorb better into the skin). Using gauze might make removal easier, but I just apply it directly at home. One scoop with the measuring cup is enough to cover your face. If you use a heaping scoop (and a bit more than one scoop of water!), it applies thickly and is easier to remove (thin application can be a bit tricky to take off).
