It's a versatile shade that complements neutral skin tones beautifully.
ConsWhile I appreciate the matte texture, it does tend to emphasize dead skin cells quite noticeably.

The finish is on the matte side, adhering lightly to the lips. Even with a light application, it delivers a vibrant color payoff.
ConsBeing a matte lipstick, it can easily dry out your lips. Especially when worn for long periods, it may accentuate lip lines and potentially crease. Exfoliating dead skin cells is essential to prevent the lipstick from clumping.

Adhesion / Lightweight / Powdery finish - I'm extremely satisfied with how lightweight it feels and how well it adheres, like applying a crayon. It clings to your lips so well that it looks like your natural lip color, but more vibrant! If you're looking for a velvety matte finish, this is the one for you. For reference: Shade 8 is more subdued than shade 9. On my wrist, 9 appeared as a lovely pink-coral, while 8 came out as a muted plum. Please note that this is my personal opinion and individual results may vary.
ConsAs it's a velvety, matte, powdery product, it seems like exfoliation is necessary before application.

The powdery formula applies lightly and smoothly.
ConsThere wasn't really any downside, but it's a bit matte, so if you don't exfoliate, it can accentuate dry patches slightly.

The photos show three cool-toned lipsticks from the Peripera Ink Velvet collection, as well as some lipsticks that I thought had an interesting texture. Ultimately, they don't seem to be cool-toned colors - they're more of a lukewarm feeling. Romand is definitely cool-toned, but in the photos, they look a bit yellower overall. Looking at the comparison shots on the detailed product page, I thought they were base colors, but as you can see in the third photo, they're actually more vibrant and impactful colors! They have a slightly muted feel, but surprisingly, they look natural and pretty even when worn alone. Peripera has an amazing cost-effectiveness, and the texture of these lipsticks doesn't really fall behind other matte lipsticks. The color payoff is really good, and the blurring effect is nice too.
ConsBut even when I applied them on days when my lips weren't in bad condition, they still created some flakiness... As they are matte lipsticks, this is something to keep in mind, but it's still a bit disappointing.
TipBe sure to apply a generous layer of lip balm before wearing these to exfoliate the lips!
