Does it really make your skin clearer? After using it for a week, I noticed some effects. Then I finished a bottle and tried other expensive essences, sometimes just using a moisturizer. I thought my skin wasn't looking great, but after repurchasing this a month later and using it for just a week, my skin bounced back to its former glory! It's gentle and quite hydrating (for combination dehydrated skin). The price is great too - I bought it in a set sale, so it wasn't a burden. The scent is subtle. Another product from the same company had a strong persimmon smell which was a bit tough to handle. There's nothing particularly bad, but the runny texture means they should really consider releasing a larger size. When I use this with Etude's newly released Soonjung Cica Balm, my skin is in its best condition, so I keep using that combination. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 23, 2020
First off, it works quickly and provides incredible hydration. Even for my super sensitive skin with facial atopic dermatitis, it doesn't cause any irritation, which is great. On days when my skin is acting up, using this helps calm it down significantly within a day or two. The visible results are truly impressive. If you're not careful when closing the lid, the product can spill out and make a mess. This can lead to a rather untidy situation. When your skin is in distress and you need fast results, don't just spot-treat. Instead, apply the product all over your face. Also, avoid layering any emulsions or similar products until this has fully absorbed into your skin. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 14, 2020
I've seen amazing results for those pesky forehead blemishes! I was so stressed about them, which only seemed to make more appear. But after cleansing in the evening, I'd swipe with the eggplant pad, then drop about one drop of the ampoule on my forehead and each cheek. I'd gently massage it in, then pat to help absorption. Incredibly, I saw results in just 2 weeks max - for me, it was closer to a week! I've tried so many blemish-calming creams like Dr. X, Dr. X Tret, Etude, etc., but nothing has worked as quickly and reliably as this. While I've known about Papa Recipe for a while, I only recently started using their products. I've been using the eggplant foam cleanser for about 8 months, the ampoule for 2 months, and the pads for less than a month. I wholeheartedly recommend all three products - they're a golden combination! The only downside might be the slightly higher price point. However, with frequent sales, it's not bad if you stock up during those times. Also, before I started using this, I noticed many people mentioning that the bottle shape makes it easy to tip over. To avoid this, I hold it with one hand, open the cap, quickly dot it on my face with the same hand, let it drip down while I close the cap, set it down, then massage and pat my face. This way, there's no risk of spilling and wasting the product! When wearing makeup, I use lip and eye remover for color cosmetics, then wipe my whole face with a cleansing tissue. Then I follow with: 1. Eggplant foam cleanser 2. Eggplant pad 3. Eggplant ampoule. This routine is absolutely fantastic for blemishes! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 28, 2019
It's a concentrated, transparent serum-type ampoule. As it's an eggplant ampoule, I applied it generously when I had blemishes and my skin wasn't in good condition. It seems to be a decent ampoule. While it didn't dramatically improve my skin, it also didn't cause any new blemishes or make my skin worse. It appears to be an ampoule that can be used without any issues. Although the serum feels lightweight, I was surprised by how well it hydrated my skin when I applied a lot during dry skin days. I didn't notice any significant effects on acne or blemishes. The bottle opening is quite small, so when opening and closing the dropper, some of the essence tends to spill out, which feels wasteful. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinAug 23, 2019
Skin type: Sensitive combination dehydrated skin The ampoule has a thin, runny consistency. Apply 2-3 drops with the dropper and gently pat it into your face. It absorbs well without feeling too sticky, leaving a soft finish. After a month of use, I didn't experience any blemishes or allergic reactions. On days when my skin felt dry and super sensitive, applying this eggplant ampoule before bed left my skin feeling hydrated the next morning, which I was very satisfied with. Overall, while there are no dramatic visible effects, it's a great ampoule for daily use. It's not too heavy, and the price point makes it an easy addition to your skincare routine without breaking the bank. When reinserting the dropper, if it touches the sides of the bottle opening, the ampoule can spill out. You need to be very careful to align it properly, which can be inconvenient. It would be great if they could redesign the container with a non-leaking opening, similar to a tint bottle. When using this ampoule, you can skip toner if you like! Using them together gives an extra boost of hydration, so in summer you might prefer using just toner or ampoule alone. In winter, when skin tends to be drier, I recommend using both as needed. When using the dropper, be sure not to let it touch your face directly. Instead, drop the ampoule from a slight distance. If the dropper contacts your skin, it increases the risk of bacteria growing inside the bottle. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 30, 2019
When my skin became red and sensitive due to dermatitis, some cosmetics would sting and irritate it further. However, this product isn't harsh at all. When applied to areas of my face that felt hot and looked flushed, it gave me a soothing sensation. While it doesn't eliminate blemishes, it seems to quickly calm the skin when applied to areas that are irritated after squeezing. I find myself reaching for it often when my skin needs some TLC. Usually, dropper-type containers have a rubber seal at the opening to prevent the product from sticking to the outside of the dropper. This one doesn't have that, so when you pull out the dropper, the product drips down the sides. It's disappointing to waste even a drop of this already small amount of serum. The packaging leaves something to be desired. It's surprisingly hydrating! After applying toner, I layer this on twice, and it's so effective that I don't need any additional skincare steps. It's perfect for a simple skincare routine in the hot and sticky summer months! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinJul 17, 2019
Being fragrance-free, it's likely to suit those with scent sensitivities. It feels too light to be called an ampoule...? It's almost water-like, so it absorbs quickly, but... Instead of having a rich, honey-like texture, it just runs like a runny nose... It might be too drying for those with dry skin... At first application, it feels extremely light, but the more you apply, the more it seems like the oily components aren't absorbing well and just sit on top of the skin...? - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 26, 2019
I tried this as a sample first and liked it so much I bought the full size. It's incredibly effective when applied to blemishes, providing almost instant relief. I purchased it specifically for those annoying chin breakouts during my period, and I'm definitely satisfied. Plus, it feels wonderfully hydrating, probably due to the centella asiatica extract. The product size is disappointingly small. Also, because of its thick consistency, the product tends to cling to the outside of the dropper as you move it from the bottle to your face, causing drops to fall. To avoid wasting any, I've resorted to pulling out the dropper very close to my face. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinFeb 12, 2019
It's non-irritating and when you apply it generously at night, you wake up with skin as soft as if you've done a mask! It's a thin consistency with almost no oiliness. It tends to run when applying, so you need to spread it quickly. Using it sparingly has zero effect - you really need to slather it on to get that silky-smooth skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 28, 2019
It's been a lifesaver for those persistent blemishes on my chin! I'm just so grateful for that alone. I found that applying a generous amount works better than using just a little. When I slather it on before bed, my skin looks hydrated without feeling sticky. The hydration level seems average. After using it for over 10 days, almost all of my breakouts have subsided, and even the red marks are starting to fade! The 30ml bottle looks surprisingly small. The dropper is awkward to use. You need to be super careful when inserting it back into the bottle to avoid touching the rim, otherwise the serum on the outside of the dropper gets pushed out. If you don't squeeze the dropper quickly after removing it, the serum just drips down. It's like the dropper and this serum just don't get along. I really wish they'd double the volume and offer it with a pump dispenser!
