Even though my skin tends to be dry in summer, this doesn't feel greasy even when I apply a generous amount. It's not heavy at all, making it perfect for summer use. If I had to point out a downside, it would be the small quantity. Also, it might not be ideal for very oily skin types. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 12, 2020
This oil is excellent for combination dehydrated skin like mine - it's not greasy, heavy, or sits on top of the skin. While oils can feel burdensome in summer, this product is perfect for transitional seasons or cold, dry weather when heavy skincare feels too much for combination skin. My routine is complete with just an exfoliating toner and this July oil. It gives a slight glow without excessive shine or oiliness, and keeps my skin nicely hydrated. The price is indeed a bit steep. I bought it during a year-end sale, but purchasing at full price might be challenging for some. Other than that, it passes with flying colors in terms of packaging design, absorption, and lasting power. I don't have any specific tips, but if you find it difficult to use the oil on its own, try mixing it with your moisturizer for easier application. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 26, 2020
Despite being an oil, it doesn't feel greasy and effectively combats deep dryness. After application, my skin feels firmer, but not in an overly oily way - more like a semi-matte finish? It tightens the skin in a pleasant way. The best part is how it leaves my skin feeling soft and velvety at the end! At first, the scent made me think, 'What's this...?' It's somewhat reminiscent of overripe aloe vera or... a runny nose? I've already finished one bottle, but as a student, the price is a bit steep. While I'd like to repurchase, it's not easy on my budget. When applying, don't rush and slather it on quickly. Instead, gently press it into your skin following your skin's texture. This method makes your skin feel incredibly firm and supple! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinNov 23, 2018
Despite having oily skin, I don't get any blemishes. While it can feel a bit heavy in summer, it's perfect for winter when my skin gets dry. I mix it with my emulsion, and it keeps my skin from feeling parched without making it overly greasy. It's a great balance! If you have oily skin but need an oil, this might work for you. However, the lid tends to collect a lot of dust and grime. Also, it's on the pricier side. You can mix a drop or two of this oil into your emulsion, or blend it with your makeup base for a subtle 'Inner Glow' makeup look. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 20, 2018
This is perfect to apply right after your toner! If you slather it on generously at night, you'll wake up to incredibly soft, hydrated, honey-like skin in the morning. It's not excessively greasy and lives up to its name as a truly 'thin' oil. As someone with dry skin, I find it slightly lacking right now. It might be ideal for those with oily skin during winter months. The oil content isn't particularly high. The formula feels more like a serum with just a drop of oil added. If you smell it closely, there's a subtle, peculiar scent. You really have to concentrate to detect it, but it's a mix of various fragrances that isn't particularly pleasant. Those with sensitive skin should be cautious. Rather than mixing it with creams or emulsions like typical oils, I recommend using it just as you would a serum! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAug 1, 2018
I've been skipping toner and using just this oil. It's not overly rich and feels refreshingly light on the skin. The dropper can be a bit messy sometimes, causing the product to drip. That's slightly disappointing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinDec 30, 2017
I was lucky enough to win the Hwahae July Holiday Box event! The packaging is really pretty, probably because it's a holiday product. The scent is not too strong, and although it's an oil, it doesn't feel too greasy... And I liked the feeling of my skin being smoothed and refined. The disappointing part was... I got some pimples... I usually don't get pimples from products I use without checking the ingredients, but after about 6 days of using this, I started getting pimples on my cheeks. So I'll try to use it only every 3-4 days. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 14, 2017
First, the fragrance is pleasant. It is not too overpowering and has a subtle aroma, which I liked. Although it is an oil, it is not too sticky or greasy, which I appreciate. It would be good for those who dislike the oily, greasy feeling of some products. The moisturizing effect is also good, and it can be used on the body as well. It seems to prevent or reduce the dryness that often occurs over time, unlike some moisturizing creams. I applied it to one side of my dry, flaky legs, and the side with the application was no longer dry and flaky, while the untreated side remained dry and white. It can be considered somewhere between a moisturizing cream and an oil. The case is like an essence dispenser, which makes it neat to use and allows for good control of the amount applied. The opaque case makes it difficult to check the amount of product remaining. It may not be able to fully address deep-seated dryness. There is a slight sense of it sitting on top of the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAug 4, 2017
I wrote this review after using the product for a little less than 10 days. Basically, my T-zone is oily, my U-zone is dry, and my overall skin lacks moisture. What I really liked about this oil was that it felt a bit less greasy than other oils I've used before. I used to only apply oil to my cheeks because my nose and forehead would get too oily, but this one spread on nicely without feeling too heavy. Even in the morning after applying it at night, my skin didn't feel overly greasy, which was quite impressive. The product comes in a dropper bottle, which is hygienic to use. The scent is also not too strong, which I appreciated. However, since my skin is generally lacking in moisture, I didn't really feel like this product replenished the hydration. According to the product description, it contains over 80% naturally-derived ingredients and is supposed to provide moisture to dry skin, but I didn't really experience that. My skin felt smooth on the surface, but I didn't feel like it was deeply hydrated. And about those natural ingredients... the names sound so gentle and non-irritating, but after using this, my face became flushed and I started breaking out quite a bit. I've used many skincare products before, but this has never happened to me, so I was quite surprised. I took a break from using it for a couple days, and then tried it again, but the breakouts came back. It seems this product just doesn't agree with my skin. Even though it didn't work for me, it apparently works fine for my sister... I guess skincare products really do have vastly different effects on different people. I'd recommend testing it out in multiple places before committing to using it. Compared to other products, this oil isn't overly greasy, so it could be a good option for oily skin types, especially in the fall and winter seasons. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 30, 2017
This is an honest Hwahae Trial Reviewer review. My skin is extremely oily and I tend to have breakouts and acne scars. Since my skin is naturally oily, I had never used oils before, as I thought oils would just add more greasiness. Even when I received the product, I was really worried that it would make my skin worse. However, I decided to give it a try, and before bed, I mixed the product 1:1 with the troubled skin cicabomb I had been using. Contrary to my worries, my skin did not get overly greasy, and the next day, my skin seemed calmed and protected. Most importantly, the ingredients are so gentle that I could use it without any concerns. It also made me realize that even oily skin needs a balance of moisture and oil. Going forward, I know that using oil products, with proper adjustments, can actually benefit oily skin types. I'm especially impressed that it didn't cause any irritation on my sensitive skin, but rather, it seemed to soothe it. I'd like to give it high marks for that. - Since I have extremely oily skin, the oil does tend to come out faster, especially in the summer. When I had to go out or be outdoors for a long time, I tried to avoid using it. I think it would work even better in the slightly cooler fall or winter seasons. - As a college student, the price point is a bit of a concern for me. I preferred to use the oil mixed into a moisturizer or cicabomb, rather than on its own. It made my skincare routine feel more nourishing, and by adjusting the ratio, I was able to achieve a nice glowy complexion.
