Harpers Bazaar's cushion foundation comes with some serious name recognition! It arrived in a sleek black box, and when I opened it... oh my, what a stunning case! I was genuinely impressed, as cushion compacts these days tend to look quite similar. But this square case is a game-changer! It exudes luxury and sophistication. Even when you open the lid, it oozes elegance. I love the large 'BAZAAR' embossed on the cushion, and they've even added star-shaped ventilation holes in the foundation - how chic! The foundation has a reddish undertone. The puff's surface that touches the product is incredibly bouncy and elastic - it's perfect! It picks up the product easily with just a light touch. The foundation is quite hydrating, but when applied, it goes on smoothly and evenly, like a fine powder. It's not heavy or cakey at all. The finish is matte and velvety - I'd say it's semi-matte. There's no grayness or darkening, just a bright and even complexion! The only slight drawback is that shade 22 is a tad dark for me. Other than that, I can't find any faults! - tl********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 25, 2022
The exterior is incredibly luxurious and sleek with a clean black package. The design features the logo embossed in black lettering on a skin-colored background. The cushion compact has a nice weight to it, giving off an expensive, high-end feel. It's a square shape with edgy design, and when you take it out of the pouch, you can't help but feel satisfied with its elegant and beautiful appearance. Opening the case reveals a puff with the Bazaar logo and a mirror with a protective sticker. The top of the puff maintains the chic black theme. The upper surface of the puff seems to have an extra layer mimicking leather, which feels great to touch! The puff itself is more firm and flat than soft and squishy, which I found to pair well with the texture of the product. When you open the lid, you'll notice the inner packaging is very well-sealed, with helpful arrows indicating how to remove it. The contents inside are moistly absorbed into a star-shaped sponge! I found that the puff doesn't over-absorb the product, but rather holds it well on the surface for good adherence to the skin. To compare the color, I took a swatch photo next to my daily-use Fmgt cushion in shade 22 Nude Beige. The Fmgt definitely has a more neutral base, while the Harper's Bazaar has a bright pink undertone. The Fmgt starts to darken after about 4 hours, but the Harper's Bazaar maintains its brightness without darkening. Texture-wise, the Fmgt has more of a semi-glow finish, while the Harper's Bazaar is slightly more semi-matte, but with a 'matte but moisturized' feel that doesn't leave the skin feeling dry. It applies and adheres beautifully, with no clumping or breakdown. In a coverage test, it covered redness well, but darker scars needed concealer. I'd say the coverage is medium-high. If you're looking for a daily cushion with a bright pink base, I highly recommend the Harper's Bazaar cushion! For a shade 23, it's quite pale and bright. The regular price is quite high, which is a bit disappointing. - dl********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 3, 2022Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Strong artificial fragrances often make me hesitant to apply products. This one adheres well to the skin and seems to offer great coverage! The color is surprisingly not too dark, blending nicely with my skin tone without standing out too much. It's even better than I expected! The puff seems thoughtfully designed too, feeling pleasantly moist and conforming well to the skin's contours. For my preferences, it feels a bit heavy. It might work better to layer it lightly on areas needing more coverage. Perhaps due to its aqua formula, if you pick up too much product at once, it can apply quite thickly. For the best application, I found it's better to build up multiple thin layers gradually. This way, it goes on more smoothly and sits better on the skin! - fu********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsDec 29, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Shade 23 is subtle, not too bright, and provides a natural coverage that I love. The case is pretty, and the puff is sturdy yet plush - I'd like to buy the puff separately to use with other products. After using it for just two days, the area around my mouth and cheeks broke out. It's incredibly itchy, and even in cold weather, when I wear a mask, I feel a sudden heat rise, making my mouth area tingle and my cheeks become bumpy. Even after cleansing at home, my cheeks continue to tingle with a burning sensation. By the second day, I got a pimple each on my glabella and philtrum. Since I only used it for two days, I'm certain this product caused the irritation, so I stopped using it. I had to use a light sheet mask morning and night for three days to calm down my bumpy cheeks. I thought the ingredients might be slightly disappointing, but after actually using it, it's more than just slightly disappointing. I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but this product doesn't seem to suit me at all. If you have oily skin, you might want to be cautious when using this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 28, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

This cushion provides a light hydration rather than an intense dewy finish! It's a great product for winter use, and it really shines when it comes to touch-ups. I usually prefer matte cushions for their coverage, but they often crack and feel heavy when reapplied. This one, however, stays moisturized and doesn't lose hydration quickly even in windy conditions. The shade 23 isn't what you'd typically expect - it's much lighter. The focus is more on overall natural brightening rather than coverage, so the coverage is lower. There's also a noticeable pink undertone that doesn't quite sit well with my warm complexion. It tends to look a bit off on my skin. • The cushion compact is quite large. It's fine if you carry a big bag, but it's too big for my small purse. • The shade is lighter than expected. • The pink base might not blend seamlessly for some skin tones. It's great for touch-ups on the go, especially for those with dry skin who want to replenish moisture! Just pat it on for a hydration boost. This cushion is perfect for winter use! - go*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 28, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

It cleanly covers freckles and redness. Pores are smoothly concealed too, so I can definitely vouch for its coverage! Adherence: 4/5 Despite being an aqua cushion, it feels slightly dry. It applies well on most areas, but for under-eye wrinkles, you need to pat and blend with the cushion for it to absorb into the skin. Still, once you've applied it thoroughly, it adheres well without any patchy areas. Longevity: 3/5 Probably due to its hydrating formula, the longevity seems lacking. My skin tends to be dry and usually 'rejects' base makeup, so I'll likely need to touch up frequently. - ye*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 25, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

This cushion is 23, but it's a bit brighter with a subtle grayish undertone. Still, it's not too far off from my neck color, so I could use it without issues. I was worried about blemishes since I have super sensitive skin, but I didn't experience any. The staying power was better than expected. The coverage is decent too. It doesn't completely conceal everything, but that's actually better because too much coverage can make your complexion look cakey. I think this product's moderate coverage is just right. This cushion is truly a safe choice - I think it would work well for most people. The color isn't pretty, it has a grayish tone. The case seems too big, maybe because of its angular shape. - he*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedDec 25, 2021Reviewed by The Hwahae Testers

Case: Unlike most round cases, this square one doesn't roll around in my bag, which is great. The 'VAZA' branding is a bit too large for my taste though. Application: It spreads really well - one dab is enough to cover your whole face. Puff marks seem to be the fate of all cushions, I guess. Moisture: Despite being called an 'Aqua Cushion', I didn't have high expectations. But surprisingly, it adheres well to the skin without feeling tight or dry, even after hours of wear. My skin tends to crack around the mouth in winter, but whether it's thanks to my skincare or this cushion, I haven't experienced any white, flaky patches like I do with other drying cushions. Transfer: This is crucial in mask-wearing times, right? I spent a snowy weekend running around and chatting with a friend, and there was hardly any transfer. Scent: It's not unscented, but... the fragrance isn't particularly pleasant. It's not bad either though. Color: It's not yellowish at all. I use shade 23, which has a subtle pink tone that's not overwhelming. It gives me a bright, fresh look when I wear it. Coverage: While it's great that one dab covers the whole face, if you try to layer it for more coverage, it can pill slightly. Puff: It's just like an ordinary compact puff. It keeps sticking to the mirror, and I've almost dropped it on the floor several times. Not sure why it does that. Inner packaging: It's sealed with foil, which can be a bit risky to open. I was afraid of cutting myself on the foil. Once opened, bits of foil stick to the edges of the product, which is annoying. After applying the cushion, I finished with a light dusting of no-sebum powder using a brush. This combo kept my skin looking smooth and pore-less for up to 10 hours, with the makeup staying put beautifully.
