After thoroughly wetting hair, I use about a quarter-sized amount on the scalp, lathering for the first cleanse. Then I use another quarter-sized amount, occasionally with a scalp brush, or just massaging thoroughly by hand. I finish with conditioner and apply a bit of hair essence when drying.

Pre-use concerns:
For about a year, my usual shampoo suddenly seemed to disagree with my scalp. Even right after washing, certain areas would itch, or my hair would get greasy quickly. I tried various highly-recommended shampoos, but the issues persisted.
