They come in two varieties - an embossed side and a smooth side. Use the textured side to exfoliate dead skin cells, and the smooth side for a gentle cleanse to refine your complexion. I tried the Houttuynia Cordata scent for the first time, and it has a fresh, invigorating aroma similar to Centella, which made it a pleasure to use.
ConsIt's not so much a drawback, but when I tried using it as a pore pack by leaving it on and then wiping, it did remove old dead skin cells and light sebum, but didn't clear out blackheads.

There's a dedicated spot for tweezers It's great that there's a place in the lid for the tweezers. I often lose them or struggle to find a good spot to keep them. 2. The scent The fragrance isn't overpowering, but has a natural, grassy scent. I liked that it wasn't a headache-inducing smell. 3. Pad texture Unlike many pads that pill or separate into layers when used for wiping, these don't. This means less irritation and gentler on the skin. 4. Sebum control It definitely tackles sebum effectively! After use, you'll see just how much grime it picked up on the pad. I was shocked when I wiped my back... I thought I'd cleaned thoroughly in the shower! 5. Matte finish This could be seen as a drawback for some, but it leaves a matte rather than sticky finish. However, it can be a bit drying, so I did apply an additional layer of moisturizer.
Cons1. Pad size The pads seem a bit small. I found them slightly inconvenient to use, and I don't even have particularly large hands. 2. Dryness There's a noticeable drying effect, so using another moisturizer is a must. 3. Effectiveness While it manages sebum well, I didn't notice much improvement with whiteheads or blackheads.
TipMake sure to finish with a hydrating moisturizer!

Here's my review: Packaging: The box design is innovative, with product information embossed inside, eliminating the need for separate instructions - it feels eco-friendly and sleek. The included tweezers are conveniently stored in the package, addressing both hygiene and practicality. The semi-transparent container allows easy content checking, showing thoughtful design for convenience and cleanliness. Pads: They feel sturdier than others I've used, resisting lint and leaving no irritating residue. The distinct embossing makes it easy to differentiate sides and gives a satisfying cleansing sensation. Scent: It's subtle but unique - a blend of ointment, cream, and herbal notes. As someone who prefers mild fragrances, I found it pleasant. Effectiveness: It seems to work well on removing impurities and excess sebum - the pads show more yellow residue than others I've used. My skin feels refreshed after use, and despite my sensitive skin, I've experienced no irritation, redness, or itchiness. Finish: It leaves no residue and doesn't feel sticky, making it easy to move on to the next skincare step. It feels gentle on the skin, which I prefer. As someone cautious about trying new products due to sensitive skin, I always check for oil-free and hypoallergenic options on Hwahae. This product passed my criteria and fortunately didn't cause any adverse reactions. Finding a product that doesn't irritate my skin is a challenge, so even with minor drawbacks, I'm more than half satisfied with this one.
ConsWhile it seems effective for managing sebum and impurities, I haven't noticed significant improvements in pores, blackheads, whiteheads, or dead skin cells. It might be because I've only used it for a week, but the results are slightly underwhelming compared to my expectations. Also, the amount of essence, pad size, and quantity of pads are a bit disappointing.
