• Honest review from my own purchase • Applies smoothly without any discomfort • After failing several job interviews, I went to a makeup studio and they used this • It's a sophisticated black-brown shade • Made in Germany • Creates a beautiful makeup look • There's absolutely nothing to complain about, I just wish it came with a refill • At the makeup studio, they told me that since I don't have double eyelids, it tends to smudge easily. So they applied fixer with a cotton swab, then drew the liner, and applied fixer again. It stayed beautiful all day long! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinMar 16, 2024
- Color: In the swatch photo, from top to bottom, we have Clio Gel Presso, Kiss Me Liquid Eyeliner in Romance Brown, and Clio Sharp So Simple Brown. It's truly a perfect dark brown shade, not quite black. - Application: The eyeliner absorbs exceptionally well. However, it's slightly on the softer side, which might divide opinions. You'll need a bit of skill to create sharp, precise lines. - Longevity: Despite its soft texture, I was pleasantly surprised by how long it lasts. It doesn't smudge easily either. Due to its soft consistency, you might feel like you're using it up quickly. However, it's often on sale, which is a plus. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinFeb 2, 2024
This is my absolute favorite eyeliner. The black-brown color is so beautiful and suits cool skin tones perfectly. I love how smoothly it applies - it's not too soft, yet not too firm. It never smudges, which is fantastic. Clio really knows how to make great products. The only downside is that it feels like there's not enough product in the pen. It runs out quite quickly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJun 26, 2023
Gel Presso is truly the best! You don't need to look for any other gel liners. It sets really quickly, so if you make a mistake, you need to act fast to clean it up. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 22, 2023
Perfect color! I've been using Clio's pencil eyeliner for a long time, but the brown was too light and the black was too dark, so I was always unsatisfied with the color... I tested it offline and loved the color so much that I got it on Hwahae. No disappointments so far. Planning to repurchase when I run out! I was a bit worried that it might be difficult to draw the eye tail since it's thicker than the Clio pencil I used before, but if you adjust the angle well while drawing, it applies thinly too. Shouldn't be a problem unless you have clumsy hands. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 4, 2023
Great for everyday use. The square shape keeps it from rolling off tables, and it's comfortable to hold. The color is closer to dark brown than black. I liked its long-lasting formula and smooth application. The thick lead makes it challenging to draw thin lines. There's some slight smudging when you close your eyes after application, so be careful at first. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 6, 2022
Color - I finally found the perfect natural shade! It's a deep brown that's not too light or too dark - just right as the name suggests. I love how natural it looks. I had an eyeliner tattoo that's faded a bit since I haven't retouched it. I started using eyeliner again as the tattoo faded, and this works great even over the remaining tattoo. I'm very satisfied! Smooth application - It glides on smoothly without irritating the delicate eye area. Staying power - My eye makeup usually smudges easily, but this has good staying power. It barely smudges at all. I haven't tried it in peak summer yet, but I think it might hold up well even then. As you can see in the photo, I rubbed it vigorously with my fingers and it only faded slightly without smudging. Of course, you wouldn't normally rub your eyes like that! Easy to remove - It comes off easily with my regular cleansing water on a cotton pad! Thick tip - I usually only line the outer corners of my eyes... But as you use this product, the tip becomes blunter, which isn't ideal for my preference of drawing a fine line at the outer corner. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 18, 2022
- It doesn't smudge at all! - The color is a perfect shade of brown, which I love! - It feels like it lasts for quite a long time. - I usually use Clio's sharp liner, but this one feels a bit thick and harder to use. - The packaging itself is quite large! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 28, 2022
I've been using the famous Clio Sharpsho Slim, but couldn't find the perfect brown shade. This one is exactly the color I wanted, so I decided to give it a try. I'll review it in comparison to the well-known Sharpsho Slim! First off, the color is absolutely spot-on, which is why I bought it. While Sharpsho Slim's #1 Black is pure black and #2 Brown is a classic brown (as you can see in the swatches), I wanted something a bit darker with a deep reddish-brown tone. This product nails it perfectly. It's right between Sharpsho Slim's #1 Black and #2 Brown. The brown has a perfectly muted saturation - it's calm and low in brightness, but not quite black or floating gray. It's a natural, faded deep reddish-brown that doesn't look ashy or too stark black. That subtle color is really appealing to me. Pure black can look a bit artificial and stand out too much, even when applied thinly. On the other hand, brown can sometimes look too floating or fail to define the eyes well (especially for my winter deep skin tone). This shade, however, defines the eyes clearly without floating, and avoids the artificiality of black. I'm really satisfied with this perfect color. The application is incredibly smooth and fine. The line is exceptionally sleek - it glides on so smoothly that it looks like it was drawn by a computer! While Sharpsho Slim is also smooth for a firm liner, it doesn't achieve this level of sleekness. This one creates a truly smooth color payoff with computer-graphic level precision. It makes drawing beautiful lines really easy and quick. Just a few strokes, and you have a pretty, even finish! Despite being so smooth, it doesn't smudge much and has pretty good staying power! Comparing the two, Sharpsho Slim does have slightly better pure longevity. When I drew lines on the back of my hand, rubbed them with a tissue and my fingers, and washed with soap, Sharpsho Slim stayed on a bit better. But that's because Sharpsho Slim is exceptionally long-lasting - this product is still good in its own right! This product also had minimal smudging and mostly washed off with soap scrubbing. Actually, Sharpsho Slim's ability to stay on even after soap scrubbing is almost too much! On the flip side, this one's resistance to smudging combined with easier cleansing means less irritation, which is a plus. Given that this test involved soap scrubbing, in real life, even with my oily skin, there was hardly any smudging or fading during wear. The longevity and smudge-resistance in daily use were really impressive! I have oily skin, and (currently in winter) after doing my usual makeup and going out for about 3 hours, it stayed put perfectly. There was no smudging or fading at all. It's also easy to remove! While I haven't tested it in the peak of summer with my oily skin yet, I think with good powder setting and a fixer, it should hold up well even in summer. The price is reasonable at 12,000 won regular price, and it's easily accessible at Olive Young and various online sites with frequent discounts. The value for money is great. As a small bonus, I like the case too! The square shape prevents it from rolling away, making it convenient and easy to grip. The soft matte finish with clean English lettering looks sleek and high-end. It's also very portable. Compared to Sharpsho Slim, this product is about 1-2cm longer and slightly thicker. Sharpsho Slim is known for being small, thin, and light! If there's a downside, it's that the soft tip wears down quickly and there's no way to keep it sharp. It starts out perfectly sharpened, but quickly becomes blunt, which is disappointing when you want to maintain a sharp tip for precise application. With Sharpsho Slim, the core itself is so thin that it doesn't really get blunt even as it wears down, allowing for consistent use. But this one, as you can see in the first comparison photo, has a core about 1.5 times thicker. The formula is relatively soft and smooth, so it wears down faster. The initially sharp tip quickly becomes blunt, and there's no built-in sharpener. Also, as expected with such a smooth eyeliner, it does wear down a bit faster due to its softness. However, given the affordable price, it's not a major issue. To sum up, this product has a better, more natural color and smoother application that's easier to draw with. Sharpsho Slim, on the other hand, maintains a consistently thin line and has stronger staying power. Still, this one has good smudge resistance and decent longevity, making it pleasant to use! For all eyeliners, to enhance longevity, it's crucial to apply powder (eyeshadow or regular powder) thoroughly on both upper and lower eyelids before drawing the line. This dramatically improves staying power! Even the most long-lasting eyeliners struggle on bare skin, especially if you have oily skin, sweat easily, or use dewy foundation. On bare skin, any eyeliner tends to melt, smudge, and fail to set properly. Even when using eyeshadow, start by applying a base shadow close to your skin tone all over the eyelid, right up to where you'll draw the eyeliner. Don't forget to apply it thickly under the eyes too, including the aegyo-sal area! If you're hesitant about using colored shadow over a large area, opt for a light, skin-tone shadow or regular face powder. After this thorough powder base, apply your desired eyeshadow and then the eyeliner. This pre-treatment significantly improves longevity, even if you're only applying eyeliner without eyeshadow. For those who only use eyeliner without eyeshadow, this powder or skin-tone base shadow technique will greatly extend wear time. Interestingly, it even helps mascara last longer! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinJan 21, 2022
♥ Smooth and silky application ♥ Found the perfect deep dark brown shade I was looking for ♥ It feels so soft when applying, I thought it might smudge easily, but as expected from Clio! ♥ Despite not smudging, it's surprisingly easy to remove during cleansing! It's not exactly soft, but it might be too smooth, making precise lines difficult. If you don't draw it in one swift motion, it can clump in some areas (though gently blending after application helps!).
