I loved using the pearl powder 10 years ago so much that I bought 2 pearl powders and 2 foundation compacts this time.
It seems like you really should use luxury brands for powder-based products.
Guerlain is Guerlain. It's so good.
It's clearly expensive, but it's a brand that's worth the price.
These days, with the masks and fine dust, I feel like I've gone back to my makeup style from 20 years ago lol

and comparing them, and I think the foundation compact is number one for me.
I use shades 00 and 01 of the foundation compact!!
When I want to look bright, 00 is perfect - it looks natural, just like I'm not wearing anything. When I want to look natural, 01 is great.
ConsThe case is big, and since it's big, I wish it had both a brush and a sponge. Or at least made some space for a pouch...
And the scent.
Most people like the Guerlain scent, but to me it smells like my mom's old makeup products.
If not for the scent, it would be a real bravo!!!!
TipIf you have a good skincare routine and apply the foundation gently with a brush, it will look smooth and seamless. And when you want more coverage, you can dab it on.
And when you're feeling lazy, just apply sunscreen and lightly sweep the brush over your face, then dab the sponge in the center of your face once more.
It will stay matte and dewy all day. Even if oil comes through, it will just look beautifully luminous, blending with your natural oils without any darkening or clogged pores.
I don't really mind the cakiness, because the coverage is great, and once the oil blends in, it fills in the pores naturally and becomes so pretty.
I highly recommend it.
Using a loose powder on top looks nice, but these days I either do foundation, Guerlain powder, and Hourglass powder for extra luminosity,
or foundation, Guerlain pearl powder, and the Guerlain compact - both options give amazing lasting power and no breakdown!
