The powder has a fine texture. No darkening effect. Great staying power. While it's not extreme coverage, it does provide decent coverage. You can use it like a powder or as a foundation. When it fades, it does so beautifully! I absolutely adore Guerlain's powder compact... I have such fond memories of using their pearl powder 10 years ago that I splurged on two pearl powders and two foundation compacts this time. It seems there's a reason why luxury brands are recommended for powder-based products. Guerlain has truly lived up to its reputation. It's fantastic. Yes, it's definitely expensive, but I believe the brand is worth the price. These days, with masks and fine dust, it feels like we've gone back to makeup styles from 20 years ago! I've been trying out compacts and foundations from various brands I like and comparing them, and for me, this ranks number one as a foundation compact. I use shades 00 and 01 in the foundation compact! When I want to look radiant, I use 00, and when I want a natural, effortless look, I go for 01. The case is quite large, so it would be nice if they could include both a brush and a sponge. Or at least create a space for them in the pouch... And then there's the fragrance. While most people seem to like Guerlain's scent, to me it smells like strong, old-fashioned perfume. If it weren't for the scent, it would be absolutely perfect! Apply it with a brush after a thorough skincare routine for a smooth finish. For more coverage, layer it on. On lazy days, just apply sunscreen, lightly brush this on, and use a sponge to touch up the center of your face. It keeps you matte all day, and if any oil does come through, it creates a beautiful glow without looking like heavy foundation. It blends with your natural oils, filling in pores without darkening, resulting in a lovely complexion. I don't mind if it settles into lines because it provides good coverage and eventually melds with your skin's oils, filling in pores and creating a natural glow. Highly recommended! It looks beautiful when used with loose powder, but lately, I've been using either foundation, loose powder, Guerlain compact, and Hourglass powder for extra glow, or foundation, Guerlain pearl powder, and Guerlain compact to finish. I'm completely satisfied with its longevity and how it wears throughout the day! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 14, 2020
The fine particles give a soft, luxurious finish that evens out your complexion beautifully. It's especially great at smoothing skin texture. I have dry skin, and this provides just the right amount of hydration without looking cakey or getting oily over time - it's really fantastic. The puff is cleverly designed to pop up when you open the case, making it easy to grab. I love that I can use it comfortably and hygienically without touching the puff too much. The coverage is about medium, so those with blemishes might need to focus on a good base first. However, this actually contributes to a more sophisticated and natural-looking finish. If only my skin imperfections would cooperate! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedJan 8, 2020
The fine particles are great. I love how it creates a natural-looking skin finish. The coverage isn't exceptional, but that's the only drawback I found. - my****Combination SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 25, 2019
Why are there no reviews for this? Honestly, the price is beyond outrageous - it's like buying from a drug dealer! But just like drugs, once you try it, you won't be able to stop. The product you can't miss out on isn't the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, but the Guerlain powder foundation. 1. Scent: It has a luxurious brand fragrance. 2. Case: It's a double-case design. When you open it, the bottom part with the puff and the top part with the product separate as you push it up. The mirror is quite large, which makes it a bit heavy. 3. Color: They say shade 01 suits Asian skin tones well. When applied without any complexion correction, it just looks like my natural skin color. I have a 19 shade skin tone. Even when my mom, who has a 22 shade, applies it, the color looks subtle and natural. In fact, Guerlain suits any skin tone naturally, so I recommend it to those who prefer a natural skin look. 4. Coverage: It doesn't boast incredible coverage like a liquid foundation. Despite being a powder, it adheres well to the skin due to its high moisture content. There's zero dryness, and it makes your skin feel soft and smooth. Someone said it looks like you've applied a blur filter! If liquid foundation feels heavy and you don't want to wear makeup but feel like you should, just apply this after proper skincare. It looks incredibly natural. The price isn't friendly, and I've seen many people say it shatters if dropped. I experienced this once with the pre-redesign version, but after the case redesign, it seems quite sturdy. It's fallen twice while in my bag, and it was fine! However, it might break if it falls on its own. Make sure your skincare is well-absorbed to prevent pilling.
