The product page made it look like a blackish-brown, so I was worried that it might be too dark, but it turned out to be not as black as I had expected, which I actually liked. (It's a bit darker than the swatch photo I've attached. The actual color is somewhere between the photo with the lid closed and the one with the lid open.)
