Pros
Sometimes certain skincare products cause sensitive skin to flare up like atopic dermatitis when applied to the face. However, the Hwahae toner is completely non-irritating and works well for me. It's a water-based toner, so if I feel like I need a little more hydration, I just layer it a few times and it absorbs nicely with a soothing sensation. After patting the toner in, my skin feels nicely moisturized. I'm too lazy to do the patting method, so I just apply it and it seems to absorb well, even if there's a bit of white foam initially. As long as it keeps my skin hydrated without any issues, the Hwahae toner wins out in terms of price compared to other products I've used like the Atopalm Houttuynia Cordata Toner. I've probably gone through about 5 bottles of the Hwahae toner so far.
Cons
One disappointing aspect is the case opening. The lid seems a bit too tight. It's often painful to pry it open with my nails. So when using it in the bathroom, I would just leave it slightly open, just covering the top, rather than closing it all the way. And after using it, if I stand it up, the toner just starts gushing out from the opening down the body. It really flows out easily. Similarly, when I pack it in my travel pouch and lay it down, it keeps leaking out. At first, I thought it was cracked somewhere, but the lid is sealed properly.
Tip
Anyway, that's why I always use Daiso containers to store things, even when using them at home..! That way, they don't leak or spill over.
