This wash-off mask is gentle enough for even sensitive skin to use comfortably. I've always enjoyed using the original Black Sugar Mask for its excellent dead skin cell removal, but this product has even finer particles, making it much less irritating. It effectively removes dead skin cells while providing great hydration, leaving your skin smooth with an improved texture. Being a sugar scrub, it has a persistent sweet scent that might not be everyone's cup of tea. - y7*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJun 12, 2025
For combination dehydrated, sensitive, pore-prone, and acne-prone skin The fragrance is pleasant, and it seems to exfoliate just right It caused blemishes to appear, so I now use it as a body scrub. Sigh I wonder which ingredient doesn't agree with my skin - tk*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 8, 2025
When your skin feels bumpy due to excess sebum, this kind of physical exfoliation seems to be the most effective. Among similar exfoliators, this one feels just right. The price is good, and the granules are neither too small nor too large. I didn't have any particular disappointments. It might be nice if it came with a built-in spoon or applicator. You can use it in the shower by applying it gently and massaging it in. It's not irritating when used this way. - 79********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 7, 2025
After using it, I can definitely say it's incredibly helpful for exfoliation. My skin feels so hydrated, incredibly smooth, and it even gives me a nice glow - I absolutely love it! I can't think of any downsides when using this product! - gi**********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 3, 2025
After using it, your skin becomes as clean and soft as a baby's, truly transforming your complexion. The particles are a bit large, which might cause some irritation on the face, so make sure your skin is thoroughly moistened before use. - su******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesRecommendedApr 28, 2025
I'm really enjoying this product! After using it, my skin feels incredibly smooth and supple. And I absolutely love the scent! The jar packaging makes me a bit uneasy as water could potentially get in. Also, there's less product than I expected. You need to scrub a bit longer than you might think to really see the dead skin cells come off effectively. - dk*******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedApr 25, 2025
I've found a real gem! Not only does it effectively remove dead skin cells, but it also leaves my skin hydrated and smooth. The exfoliating particles have become gentler, so I can use it even on sensitive days without worry. The fresh lemon scent makes my shower time even more enjoyable, lifting my mood. To be honest, there's nothing particularly disappointing about it. If I had to nitpick, I just wish it came in a larger size! (I keep using it because I love it so much) I apply it like a cream, spreading it on my face and gently massaging in circular motions. Then I wipe it off with a tissue and finish with water. This method effectively removes dead skin cells and helps my makeup go on much more smoothly. - fl************Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 18, 2025
As someone with sensitive skin, I usually avoid scrubs, but this one is great because I can use it without much irritation! It effectively removes dead skin cells and sebum while keeping my skin hydrated. I'm completely satisfied with this product! I think it would work well for all skin types. There's nothing particularly disappointing about it. However, I noticed that if you rub too hard on the most sensitive parts of your cheeks, they can become a bit red. If you have super sensitive skin, it's important to gently roll the product on your face! For best results, use this after cleansing with warm water when your face is still damp. This will minimize irritation and improve the removal of dead skin cells and excess oil. - ha*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 6, 2025
I'm prone to dead skin cells buildup, so I consistently manage my exfoliation routine. Among the scrubs I've tried, Skinfood's Black Sugar Scrub has been the most satisfying. After using it, my skin definitely feels softer, my complexion improves, and I notice that my skincare products absorb better. Some scrubs dissolve too quickly to be effective, while others have particles that are too large and hard, potentially causing irritation. This one strikes the perfect balance with the most suitable texture. It's a winter essential for me! For those with blemish-prone skin, this might be a bit irritating. The formula becomes even firmer in winter. While it didn't bother me, the strong scent might be hit or miss for some. Also, with the jar packaging, water can get in during use, causing the product to dissolve over time. The newly released tube version might be more convenient to use. - bd********Normal SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 2, 2025
I've lost count of how many jars I've gone through! If you have dry skin but still want that satisfying scrub sensation, I highly recommend this product. It contains essence, so your skin stays hydrated even after rinsing. It's way better than the original Black Sugar scrub. Be careful as it turns white when it comes in contact with water. I recommend using a spoon! You can use it as a targeted body scrub for areas like elbows, but I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin due to the potentially irritating granules.
