I went to the department store to test it out before buying. I chose shade 06 to match my neck color. My face is naturally a bit pale, but my neck is darker. I didn't want my face to look like it was floating, so I opted for this shade. The color isn't too dark, and even though I have dry skin, it gives a nice rich finish. Touch-ups are definitely necessary. Even with dry skin, I need to carry powder in the summer. The rich finish tends to come through a bit. Applying it with a spatula allows for multiple layers, so you can spread it evenly and thoroughly. - 20******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessMar 28, 2024
I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive and prone to redness. My skin especially reacts to oils, heavy oil-based products, strong vitamin formulations, and alcohol. Pores are a concern, but as I age, my skin's getting less oily and naturally improving (thank goodness!). Since sunscreens often cause blemishes for me, I'm on the hunt for one that won't trigger an allergic reaction. So far, the recently launched blue Hera sunscreen seems to suit me best! Oh, and I'm the type whose lips react badly to Chanel and YSL lip products - they make my lips peel! This shade is a bit brighter than 1R02, giving a more radiant look. This product has terrible staying power. Once it wears off, I'm left looking completely bare-faced! - 91****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinWrinkles/ElasticityRednessRecommendedNov 25, 2023
• The staying power is truly impressive. Apply in the morning and you won't need touch-ups until night. • It's worth buying for this feature alone. • The skin looks even better as time passes. • Spreads thinly and evenly. • Minimal settling into fine lines. • One pump is enough for the entire face. • I'm shade 21 with warm undertones. The store recommended this shade, but it's a bit dark. • It's darker than my natural skin tone... I wonder why they suggested this. • Mixing it with the Hera Tone-Up Sun Cream creates a more natural look. Pro tip: Use with a trendy spatula for best results. - wl*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 19, 2023
It absorbs well and applies thinly on my combination dehydrated skin with large pores, giving a beautiful and natural finish. It stays clean even after hours and doesn't break down much. They also sell smaller sizes, which is perfect for those who like to switch up their foundation often! Being a department store foundation, it's quite pricey. The coverage isn't extremely high, so freckles and blemishes might show through a bit. It sets quickly, which could be challenging for beginners. For a more delicate and natural look, it's better to apply thin layers multiple times using a dense brush rather than a puff. - no********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresFeb 17, 2023
[ Just average overall! ] The brand doesn't live up to its reputation. Products used in makeup artists' kits: HD powder and HD foundation Honestly, as time goes by, Make Up For Ever doesn't offer much besides powder...? Even in the lip category, there aren't any standout products. [ Comparison with other products ] Coverage, adherence, and staying power are all pretty run-of-the-mill. *For coverage (acne or redness): Estée Lauder Double Wear + concealer, hands down *For a clear CC cream: Giorgio Armani Neo Nude *For matte finish, adherence, and light coverage: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Foundation *For coverage, glow, and decent adherence: Estée Lauder Futurist The main drawback is that there's nothing particularly special about the products overall. On the plus side, they offer mini sizes, which are great for trying out the products. - hj*******Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 11, 2023
It adheres well to the skin and applies thinly. There's minimal creasing or settling into fine lines. The coverage is a bit lighter than expected. For the cheek area, using a light touch with concealer works well. If you apply it over a well-prepped base, it doesn't cake up and resists breaking down throughout the day. - yo****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 1, 2023
- Lightweight with excellent absorption! Doesn't feel thick at all, perfect for those with naturally good skin who want a polished makeup look. Easy to apply too! - Feels moisturizing, so you won't experience dryness in winter. However, it's not extremely hydrating for a makeup base. Similar feel to NARS Sheer Glow?! - Touch-ups are a breeze. It applies thinly with good adherence, so it doesn't peel off or break down messily during touch-ups. Its thin texture means less transfer to masks and doesn't smudge unattractively. - Doesn't seem to darken much. Even after 8-10 hours at work, while it may not be the ultimate in brightness & clarity, it doesn't look dull or turn yellow either. - Though it's winter and we'll need to keep observing, it doesn't seem like a foundation that gets overly oily. Even NARS Sheer Glow can separate a bit in winter, but this one doesn't, making it suitable for winter use. If it works well through summer too, I plan to make it my go-to. - Doesn't cause blemishes even on sensitive skin. - Due to its thin application, it might not hold up well against sweat in summer in terms of longevity. - Absolutely not for those who prioritize coverage (less coverage than NARS Sheer Glow or Teint Idole). - The lack of coverage might make you feel like you're using a lot of product. - For those with shade 22, it might appear slightly reddish. Using a puff instead of a brush to build up layers might give better adherence and somewhat better coverage..!!
