Highly recommended for oily skin! Texture: Unlike other ampoules, it doesn't drip or feel sticky - more like a moisturizer! The color isn't transparent but white, making it indistinguishable from a regular moisturizer when applied. If you're expecting a typical ampoule texture, you might be surprised! Application: It feels like applying an emulsion or cream, packed with hydration but without the oiliness of an ampoule. As someone with oily skin, I actually preferred the lighter feel! Given its moisturizer-like texture, I wondered if it would have a cooling effect like other moisturizers, but when stored at room temperature, there wasn't any noticeable cooling sensation. Scent: It's completely fragrance-free! While I might not have the most sensitive nose, I couldn't detect any scent at all. Despite containing centella asiatica, there's no characteristic smell - not even the typical cosmetic scent! This means it won't divide opinions based on fragrance, and those sensitive to scents can use it without worry. Effectiveness: While it emphasizes immediate soothing effects, the results weren't dramatic, but I did notice some reduction in redness after application. It seems more specialized in calming flushed skin rather than instantly soothing blemishes. I'll need to use it consistently to gauge its full effects.
ConsSummary: An ampoule that doesn't feel like an ampoule. Not recommended for dry skin! Texture: First off, it seems to lack the richness you'd expect from an ampoule. In winter, you might prefer a richer, more substantial ampoule, but this isn't suitable if you're looking to replenish oils. While those with oily skin who prefer less richness might find it acceptable, if you have dry skin and apply only this over your toner, it might not provide enough oil to balance your skin! Think of it as a moisturizer in an ampoule bottle. Cooling Effect: It lacks the satisfying thickness of an ampoule, but also doesn't provide the cooling effect of a moisturizer, which is a bit disappointing. For soothing heated summer skin, a moisturizer with a cooling effect works best. If they were going for this type of texture, I wonder if including a cooling effect might have been a good idea?
TipIf you're after a cooling effect, it's best to store this in the refrigerator! It's not a product that provides a cooling sensation when kept at room temperature.
