After always using black, I tried brown for the first time and I love that it's not too flashy. The staying power seems to last a long time too! It's even better that it came with an eyelash curler! There's nothing particularly disappointing about it! It's a pretty decent product. - lo****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 1, 2024
The ash brown color is uniquely beautiful, making it a versatile and appealing product There's nothing particularly negative to mention. It's a decent product for lengthening and curling lashes - bm*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 24, 2023
I was curious about the ash brown shade, so I bought it. It's lighter and more natural than black, yet still defined. I really like Too Cool For School! The fixing power isn't particularly strong, but I prefer a more natural look anyway, so I'm satisfied with it as it is. - y4********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 13, 2023
I opted for Ash Brown instead of Black as it felt less intense, and I was pleasantly surprised that it had an even stronger ash tone than expected. Unfortunately, it tended to clump a bit on me, which was disappointing. - oy****Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 10, 2023
This is great! Even though I have eyes that tend to smudge easily, this mascara doesn't smudge much and maintains the curl well! My mom and I bought it together, and she's so satisfied that she says she'll keep using only this one. The ash brown color is surprisingly natural-looking, but I think I'll buy the black one next time! If you're using mascara to make your eyes look more defined, you might be a bit disappointed with this one. I'd recommend getting the black version instead! - cl********Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 9, 2023
As someone who rarely uses mascara due to the hassle of removing it, and who has only tried Etude's black mascara before, here's my comparison review. The main advantage is that it applies very neatly. The ash brown color meets my expectations based on the product description, giving a natural look. It also has a slight lash-lengthening effect. The curl-holding power is a bit disappointing. Partly due to my straight lashes, but without using a lash primer, about 40% of the curl drops after an hour. - me**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 2, 2023
▪️ Staying Power The curled lashes hold their shape from morning till evening. ▪️ Ash Brown My hair is black, but black mascara feels too intense. Regular brown looks disconnected from my hair color, but ash brown provides a natural look. ▪️ No Clumping Perhaps because I remove excess product from the wand before applying, it goes on smoothly without clumping. ▪️ Smudging The area under the eyes tends to darken, and occasionally powder residue appears on the eyelids. The darkened areas are not easy to wipe off. - vl*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinDark CirclesRednessRecommendedFeb 1, 2023
The ash brown color looks more natural than black and gives great volume. The liquid feels a bit thick, which can cause some clumping, but it's not too severe. - mi*******Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedNov 13, 2022
1. Color Not as intense as black, it's a perfect ash color. Recommended for those wanting a natural makeup look. Personally, as I have monolids, I prefer more noticeable lashes. Regardless of length, the color makes them less prominent, which can look a bit plain. If you're not specifically looking for a very natural color, I'd recommend black. However, it's nice that even if you apply it a bit heavily, it's less noticeable than black due to the color. 2. Texture The liquid is somewhat thin and doesn't have too much fiber-like material. 3. Application I was pleasantly surprised by how good it felt. It doesn't leave a spidery finish. If you control the amount well, it applies cleanly. When I first used it, I was amazed that it didn't clump even with multiple coats. You can apply it neatly or build it up for more volume, so use it according to your preference. 4. Ingredients For a product used on sensitive eyes, the ingredients are excellent - totally good! 1. Color Personally, I'm not a fan. It drastically reduces the presence of lashes, making plain eyes look even plainer. Recommended for those with double eyelids. Otherwise, I'm satisfied and plan to try the black version too. 2. Curl retention I didn't feel the curl retention was particularly good. When used alone, my lashes kept falling, so I had to keep curling them again with an eyelash curler. If you have monolids, use a mascara fixer before applying. 3. Texture The liquid is thinner than expected, so it easily smudged on my eyelids. As with any mascara, if you apply it thickly straight from the container, it will clump and smear on your eyelids. You need to control the amount carefully when applying. - wy********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 13, 2022
This is my absolute favorite mascara. The color looks incredibly natural. It applies slightly clumpy, but that's the only downside. I love it so much!
