As someone with extremely sensitive, blemish-prone skin, I'm incredibly picky about cosmetic ingredients. I've been trying various sunscreens to find one I can use consistently, and I was intrigued by this sun serum. The ingredients and reviews looked promising, so I bought it with high hopes. The best part is that it applies smoothly like a good serum with an incredibly lightweight texture and absolutely no white cast. It's hard to believe this provides sun protection! The ease of application is definitely a plus.
ConsUnfortunately, my face started stinging intensely right after application. Despite the positive reviews, I felt like the odd one out and considered washing it off immediately. The burning sensation was shocking, and I thought I'd wasted my money again. I had to leave for an appointment, so I applied makeup over it. Surprisingly, despite the stinging, my makeup went on well. When I got home and removed my makeup, the washing process was incredibly painful, and I desperately wanted to scratch my cheeks. Even now, as I write this review sitting on my couch, my cheeks still feel hot, stingy, and tingly. I'm baffled as to why my skin reacted this way, given the good ingredients and positive reviews. I suspect it might be irritating the acne-prone areas on my cheeks, as that's where the stinging and itching are concentrated. For those with blemish-prone skin, be aware that it might not suit you either. I'm really disappointed about wasting money on this.
TipSince it didn't work for me, I don't have any tips to share...

As expected from a sun serum, it has an incredibly lightweight, thin emulsion-like texture. I didn't experience much eye irritation, and overall it was pretty decent.
ConsIt might be because I have sensitive skin, but the scent isn't particularly pleasant... Moreover, when I applied makeup after using this, there was a significant amount of white residue that appeared... I don't think I'll be repurchasing this, unfortunately.

I think it would be perfect to use before makeup. Of all the sunscreens I've tried in my life, this one feels the freshest and has the best texture.
ConsI'm not sure what the problem is, but I got blemishes after using it. This product seems to be the cause, and I think some ingredient didn't agree with my skin. It's really disappointing...

While it feels a bit rich, it's so hydrating that I could get away with just using toner as my base skincare.
ConsDespite the good ingredients, for some reason it caused my skin to break out (with small blemishes). The slightly sticky texture is also a bit disappointing.
TipIt's incredibly hydrating even when applied over minimal skincare.

As I've gotten older, I felt the need to apply sunscreen and tried many popular products while searching around. However, I couldn't find a product that really clicked with me until I came across this one. Although I prefer moisturizing products, for some reason, the oil content in most sun products didn't suit me and caused blemishes to appear. Pros: True to its name as a serum, it feels incredibly lightweight and is perfect for applying before makeup. Unlike some products that can cause your base to separate, this one doesn't do that at all. It has just the right balance of oil and moisture, so even after a full day, my face didn't turn into an oil slick.
ConsUnfortunately, it didn't suit my skin... On the first and second day of use, I developed small bumps. I hoped it was just a coincidence, so after letting my skin calm down, I tried using it again, but the same small bumps appeared. I plan to use this product on areas other than my face, like my neck or hands!

And that emulsion-like texture? It's fantastic, really. It didn't pill at all when I applied makeup over it...! Unfortunately, since it didn't suit my skin, these are the only positive points I can mention. It's such a shame...
ConsThe main issue I had was the burning sensation I felt immediately upon application. I experienced this even when I only applied toner and emulsion before using this. The ingredients themselves are supposed to be very gentle... why doesn't it work for me? Sigh... this super sensitive skin of mine. I really wanted to find a sunscreen that worked well for me this time. I wonder which ingredient doesn't agree with my skin?
TipI have combination dehydrated and sensitive skin!

I usually apply for products with good ingredients, and luckily I won this when I ran out of sunscreen. I liked the sample sunscreen that came with my B-plane order, and this product seems to work similarly well! Skin type: Slightly oily T-zone, inner dryness. Combination dehydrated skin. Became sensitive after skin issues (sigh). Currently balancing oil and moisture. Much better than when my skin was at its worst. Previously had acne, enlarged pores, burning sensation, excess oil, and bumpy texture. Unsure of the exact cause, but likely due to lowered immunity + severe stress + irregular eating habits after getting very sick in 2019. Now I've improved my lifestyle and diet, and found the right skincare routine. Only get a few hormonal acne spots on my chin during my cycle, with some remaining scars. Ingredients that work: Centella (diluted), low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, cica, houttuynia cordata, aloe (mild) Ingredients that don't work: Fermented ingredients, shea butter, stearic acid, mineral oil (worst), excessive oiliness (high oil content), silicones 🔹️Thin texture 🔹️Almost unscented 🔹️Slight pink tint As a sun serum, it has a slightly runny texture. The scent is not noticeable. It has a slight tint but doesn't provide coverage, just a natural glow. Probably better for combination/dry skin than very oily skin. I'm personally satisfied that it doesn't provide tone-up effects. 🔹️80% compatibility with semi-matte foundation I received the product on the 11th and used it immediately. I usually only apply sunscreen over emulsion for my 2-hour workouts, and I've used it with Chanel Ultra Le Teint BD01 about three times. I recently switched to a more hydrating base for my Chanel foundation. Since this sunscreen is somewhat moisturizing, I reduced the emulsion step and applied sunscreen + foundation. It paired well with the semi-matte to matte foundation without pilling. Depending on skin condition, there might be some flaking after wearing a mask, but that's due to the foundation and skin condition rather than compatibility issues. As time passes, it absorbs into the skin and becomes drier for a serum, so I'm not sure how it would work with a very matte foundation. It seems to pair better with semi-matte to slightly dewy foundations. 🔹️Good cleansing effectiveness 🔹️No blemishes or eye irritation (used continuously from 11th-16th) I'm a foam cleanser devotee, so I prefer products that rinse off easily. Even for sunscreen, I spend a lot of time outside, so I do a thorough double cleanse with less foam cleanser. While I can't visually confirm if it's completely removed, I can feel if it's cleaned well with just foam cleanser. The cleansing effectiveness seems good. I apply it on my arms when wearing short sleeves and haven't felt any residue or slipperiness when scrubbing. I was worried about potential reactions since I've had issues with good ingredients before, but so far I've used it without any blemishes. Considering my sensitive skin with acne scars, occasional bumps, and inflammation, it's working very well. My skin has improved a lot thanks to my basic skincare routine, so it's been easier to use this product without major issues. What I like most is that it doesn't cause blemishes or eye irritation. + It also has a slight cooling effect Would consider purchasing with my own money Recommended for: Combination/dry/complex skin types looking for a non-white cast, non-sticky sunscreen Those seeking a sunscreen that pairs well with foundation and doesn't irritate eyes +++) Added 05/22/22 If there were no other options, I'd buy this again, but the sample sunscreen I tried before was better. I'd consider repurchasing if there were no alternatives, but I wouldn't buy it again if other options were available. See cons for reasons.
Cons✔I applied it before working out today, and there was some white residue, possibly due to mask friction. This hasn't happened before, so I'm not sure if it's due to the emulsion, sunscreen, or mask. Maybe because I put on the mask right after applying? +++) Added 05/22/22 cons I'd like to give it 3.5 stars, but since there's no half-star option, I'll leave it at 4. The product is good in that it doesn't cause blemishes, irritation, or eye stinging, but it pills. Interestingly, it only pills on my cheeks, not on my forehead or arms, so it might not mix well with thicker creams in my skincare routine (emulsion-cream). Even after letting everything absorb fully and waiting for the sunscreen to set before putting on a mask, I noticed pilling when I touched my cheeks. It was clearly the sunscreen pilling, so I quickly wiped it off and reapplied just the emulsion since I was about to apply makeup. I haven't tried the emulsion + sunscreen combination yet, so I'm not sure if it's just incompatible with the cream or what. Before this, I never had issues with pilling, so it's a bit annoying to have to reduce my skincare steps, wait for absorption, etc. If I had bought this with my own money, I might have been more upset. The lack of eye irritation and blemishes is good, but still... Why does it have to pill like this~ ✔It feels slightly sticky and takes some time to absorb. They say to apply a 500 won coin-sized amount, but that much feels sticky. Need to pat it in well for absorption and make sure to wipe hands thoroughly. ✔Not exactly a con, but the shape is pretty yet inconvenient. The opening stays clean and the body is easy to squeeze, but its round pebble-like shape makes it hard to stand up after use. I'm probably just used to typical tube sunscreens, but it's a bit disappointing that it can't stand upright.
