I still use this product daily. It provides sun protection, doesn't make me look ghostly pale, and naturally evens out my skin tone. The downside is that it feels a bit sticky when applied and seems quite rich, so it might be too heavy for those with oily skin. - hu********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 28, 2025
As someone with oily skin, I'm satisfied with the balanced richness of this product. Its slight brightening effect and how well it absorbs have made me settle on this sunscreen over others. There's nothing I dislike about it. It works well as long as you don't apply too much. For best results, apply this after thoroughly prepping your skin with toner and emulsion! - eu*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresFeb 19, 2025
I have fond memories of using the previous version of this product (which went through 2-3 renewals from the original), so I decided to purchase it again on a whim. (I've tried a wide range of Tony Moly products, and their Mochi Toner and Shocking Lip Tint are truly my absolute favorites!) To be honest, it's difficult to find many positives to highlight about this product, even if I try my hardest. It might be suitable for those with dry to normal skin who prefer a non-brightening hybrid sunscreen. Management: The most frustrating thing about Tony Moly is that they always drastically renew their best-selling products. If these overhauls actually improved the products, it wouldn't be an issue, but in reality, it often leads to their downfall. It's baffling - do they have an aversion to successful products, or is there a mole from a competing company? Or perhaps someone with zero business acumen is in an executive position? If their goal is to drive away existing customers, congratulations - they've already achieved great success! Application: While the previous versions (including the second renewal) were a bit thick, typical of mineral sunscreens, they were perfect for oily and combination skin types prone to excess sebum. They were also loved by those seeking a powder-like finish without actually using powder. Any application issues could easily be resolved by layering more moisturizing products underneath, so it wasn't really a problem unless you had extremely dry skin. The current product has changed to a hybrid sunscreen with an emulsion-like texture that applies easily, but the problem is it's excessively greasy. There's absolutely no powder-like or fresh finish to be found. As someone whose U-zone fluctuates between normal and slightly dry in winter, I still need to use powder even in the coldest months (and powder my T-zone as if it were summer). It's so oily that if you're planning to be out in the cold wind all day, you can skip the powder - that's how greasy it is. I lent it to my colleagues with dry skin without telling them my opinion, and they said that while it applies easily, the product is so oily that it sits on top of the skin, leaving the surface greasy while the skin underneath feels dry - a truly unpleasant experience. Performance: One of the reasons I used to consistently buy this product was for its brightening effect. It used to give a natural, slightly brighter look while also providing sun protection, which made it worth buying even at full price when it wasn't on sale. The current product? Well, they've managed to lose the brightening effect too when they switched to a hybrid formula. This isn't a renewal - it's more like discontinuing the original product and launching a completely new one. Scent: I used to write in my reviews that it smelled like Lanvin perfume, but now it has a cheap vitamin-like scent. If the scent were the only issue, I'd just use it without complaining, but this product is problematic on all fronts. User experience: It's barely usable in the dead of winter, and powder is a must! To refute the product description, it does transfer due to its oiliness, and any brightening effect disappears within seconds. If intense hydration is your top priority, you might be satisfied, but if you're buying this expecting the previous formula, I strongly advise against it. Conclusion: Typically, product renewals are carefully considered decisions (especially for popular items), followed by extensive testing. The goal of a renewal should be to retain existing customers while attracting new ones. But Tony Moly seems to renew products on a whim, which is quite unusual. Take a look at their list of popular products and see how many times each has been renewed - doesn't that tell you something? If they want to launch new products, they should at least do some market research and consumer preference surveys. It's incredibly frustrating to have a holy grail product completely change overnight. At this point, I'm too scared to buy anything from Tony Moly anymore. There are plenty of sunscreens out there, so instead of buying this one, go to Olive Young, test some out, and purchase one that suits you best. - k7*********Normal SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJan 31, 2025
I've been using this brightening moisturizer with SPF for three years now. As you can see from the package photo, it's clearly well-loved! I switched from mineral sunscreens because they were too drying, and after trying various hybrid formulas, I settled on this one. It matches my complexion perfectly and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry, so I've been using it consistently. Color: When first applied, it might make your skin look a bit white, but don't worry - it adjusts to your natural skin tone over time. Just apply your makeup as usual. Application: It absorbs well without feeling sticky or causing any deep dryness. Everyone around me has tried it, and it's become a staple for many. I confidently recommend it, especially for those with dry to normal skin types! There's nothing I dislike about it. If there were any downsides, I would have switched to a different sunscreen by now, considering I use it daily. This sunscreen comes in various formulations, so you can choose one that works best for your skin type. - 12****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesRecommendedSep 5, 2024
It naturally brightens and evens skin tone while giving a radiant glow that makes your complexion look flawless Not recommended for summer or those with super oily skin. It tends to make the skin quite rich When you notice excess oil, gently blot with oil-absorbing sheets for a quick touch-up - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedFeb 12, 2024
I liked how it brightened my skin naturally, even after multiple applications. The coverage is moderate, which I found satisfactory. It's great that I could apply it to my neck as well, making it blend seamlessly with my face. As someone with oily skin, I didn't mind the oil build-up since I could easily blot it away with oil-absorbing sheets. The darkening effect was a bit intense, and the coverage was only moderate. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 31, 2023
Finishes with a fresh, non-greasy feel Brightens complexion without leaving a white cast The brightening effect is so natural, I wish it was a bit more noticeable - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 10, 2023
I've repurchased this product multiple times! It naturally brightens my complexion, making it perfect to use before makeup. It absorbs well, leaving my skin moisturized without causing any pilling of my base products. If you apply thick layers of skincare before sunscreen, it can cause product buildup that pills off like dead skin. This product is sufficiently moisturizing and rich, so you can skip heavy base layers. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAug 21, 2023
Not great. It can turn dry skin into oily skin. You'll become an oil tycoon, guaranteed! I have extremely dry skin, but after applying this, it's like I've struck oil. I have to blot with oil-absorbing sheets right after application. I thought maybe my toner was the issue, so I tried blotting after toner, but not a drop of oil. Then I applied this sunscreen and... oil gushed out like crazy. I've tried both the tone-up and regular versions, and they're equally bad. The tone-up one even leaves a white cast. I absolutely won't use this again. If you're buying this, make sure to stock up on oil-absorbing sheets too! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 15, 2023
This is my holy grail sunscreen! Even though it's been discontinued and renewed, it's still amazing. The product I used before was discontinued and renewed, and now it doesn't brighten as much as it used to.
