When you open it, a strong tea tree scent wafts up. After wetting your hair, apply it evenly to your scalp and massage - you'll feel a slight cooling sensation. Since it doesn't lather much, I recommend using it after shampoo. After use, my scalp feels cleaner. I can't speak to its effectiveness yet as I've only used it once, but I'll trust the process and update my review after more use.
