Application: I've tried various sunstick products. If the application is stiff, I tend to avoid using it... maybe just for arms and legs when traveling? This product, however, glides on so smoothly - I was truly amazed! To think I can even apply it on my face... what a relief! 2. Ingredients & Finish: Hybrid sunscreen! It has a hydrating feel that doesn't dry out the skin! It's not oily, doesn't pill, and leaves a powder-soft finish! (Perfect for summer use, right?) 3. Design: It's absolutely gorgeous! 4. Compact Size: I usually carry a mini bag, so I wouldn't even consider taking a large sunstick out with me... This little gem fits right into my bag, so I've been carrying it around lately. I reapply it whenever I remember while I'm out.
Cons1. Scent: At first, it had a medicinal scent that caught me off guard... But as I got used to it, it's not really that bothersome?
TipI use a separate sunscreen, and I apply this product under my eyes or on areas where I've sweated or the product has worn off when I'm out. It's especially great for outdoor activities! I apply it not just on my face, but also on the back of my neck and hands. I'll definitely be packing this for my Cebu trip next week!

The gradient lid opens to reveal an inner lid, which should help preserve the product longer and keep it more hygienic. The texture is neither too thick nor too moist - it's a medium type. It adheres quickly when applied, without feeling dry or sticky. However, it does have some moisture, so you might need to pat it in with your fingers to help it absorb. It is an essence sunstick after all. There was absolutely no white cast. I didn't experience any eye irritation, but since the skin around my eyes is sensitive, I roll it onto my fingers first and then apply it to my eye area. It feels slightly cool when applied. After using tone-up sunscreens and non-pilling mineral sunscreens (with white cast) for a while, applying this glossy sunscreen without white cast felt a bit unfamiliar. But I found it didn't pill even when I applied a brightening moisturizer over it. I experimented by applying it over cushion foundation, but the base moved a bit. It's better to gently remove the base, apply the sunstick for adherence, then reapply the cushion (see last photo). For spot application, rolling it onto your finger and patting it in works well. Interestingly, when I usually apply sunscreen and brightening moisturizer over my blemishes, they tend to worsen and spread by afternoon. But after using this sunstick, my blemishes seemed to have reduced a bit. Though this could be just my imagination!
ConsAs mentioned, the small surface area makes it difficult to apply evenly over large areas. The scent is somewhat medicinal, reminiscent of ointment or muscle rub.
TipThis would be great for touch-ups when your base makeup starts to break down in the summer heat. Just remember to twist the product back down before closing the lid!

I haven't tried applying makeup over it, so I can't speak to any pilling issues.
ConsIt has that distinct sunscreen scent, which might be challenging for those prone to motion sickness, especially on days when you're not feeling your best.
TipMake sure to apply it thoroughly.

I always carefully check the ingredients before making a purchase. As a lucky winner of The Hwahae Testers, I'll provide an honest review. After rolling it on my hand a few times and applying it to my face, it initially seemed a bit rich, but with a little patting, it absorbed so well that it felt like I hadn't applied anything at all. It's so lightweight that it's perfect for a quick application on bare skin! Due to its lightness, there was no pilling even when I applied makeup over it.
ConsThere's a slight cosmetic scent, which was a tiny bit disappointing. Also, being a stick format, I'm a bit concerned about hygiene. It's a bit worrying to reapply it on a face that might have dust on it. Still, I use it after cleansing, and there's nothing as convenient as a stick format for applying on-the-go. It's a stick format with clear pros and cons! I think it might be more suitable for summer than winter.
TipAfter allowing your moisturizer to absorb completely, freely roll the sun stick over your face. Then, gently pat it in with the warmth of your hands for best results!

Compared to other sunscreens I've used, it feels less sticky, so I think I'll use it well going forward. After application, there's a slight glow, so it doesn't look like you're wearing nothing, but it's not bothersome at all.
ConsIt has that typical sunscreen smell with a chemical floral scent... It's a bit annoying. I probably can't use it on my face (but I'm sensitive to fragrances).
TipIn summer, they say you should reapply sunscreen every 2 hours. It's hard to carry around and apply emulsion-type sunscreens, so everyone should try using a balm instead.

Absorbs really well, feels like a cream that sinks right in! Glides on smoothly. Less greasy than expected, which is great.
ConsHas a scent reminiscent of dermatological medication. The fragrance is a bit nauseating... The quantity is too small... Feels like it'll be used up in a week... For some reason, as soon as I opened it, the container and contents were completely separated...

The stick format makes it easy to apply without getting your hands messy. You can even reapply over makeup without pilling! It has a slight cooling effect, so it's refreshing when your skin feels hot.
ConsThere's a mild cosmetic scent, though it's not overpowering. Be careful not to shake the stick when it's extended - it might fly off! (This happened to me during a coughing fit, though it's unlikely to occur often.) As expected, make sure your skin is clean before application, or debris might stick to the product or your face.
TipGlide it on when you feel hot indoors. Swipe before heading outside. Avoid touching your face for about an hour after application (it's slightly sticky at first). Highly recommended for those who find applying sunscreen a hassle but know they should wear it!

It's great how it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshingly cool.
ConsThe downside is that the quantity feels a bit small. Also, the scent is slightly reminiscent of grass with a hint of medicinal ointment. However, since the fragrance is mild, it wasn't unpleasant or bothersome.
TipFor makeup, I love how I can just apply this lightly as a base product, followed by a sun stick. It works hard as both a sunscreen and a moisturizer, keeping my skin hydrated. Plus, it creates a great canvas for makeup application.

Their strong point is definitely hydration! I thought this sun balm would be good too, and I wasn't disappointed. The packaging is beautifully crafted with attention to detail. I love that when you open the sun balm, there's a separate cap for the sunstick, keeping it hygienic. True to its name 'Cool Watery Touch Sun Balm', it has a refreshing scent and gives a cool sensation on the skin. It's more of a cool feeling than just cold, so I think I could use it even in winter. It's convenient to apply without using your hands, and it keeps the skin moisturized, so you probably won't need to use an emulsion beforehand. Plus, there's no white cast or pilling, which is great!
ConsThe only downside is that the refreshing scent is a bit reminiscent of muscle relief patches.
TipMake sure to apply it thoroughly on your arms and legs before heading out!

Along with the main product, there were many samples, all in paper packaging, which further emphasized their commitment to the environment. I noticed FSC and soy ink certifications as well. The container's color and design gave off a cool and clean vibe. It fits comfortably in one hand, and its size is just right - not too big or small - making it perfect for carrying around. The formula comes in an ivory-colored stick balm form. When applied to the skin, it spreads thinly and evenly, absorbing well. The moment you apply it, you feel a cooling effect and a refreshing sensation, as if a layer of hydration is being built on your skin. It's pleasantly moisturizing. There's no heavy or sticky feeling, and it feels gentle and fresh on the skin without any irritation. With its moisturizing and UV protection properties, it seems ideal for use in this dry weather we're experiencing lately.
ConsThe scent might be polarizing. It has a slight masculine skincare fragrance that some may or may not like.
TipSince it's a product that provides good hydration, it might be beneficial to apply it occasionally when your skin feels dry.
