Usually, when we think of taupe lip colors, we imagine a soft brownish shade, often likened to tree branches. However, this Day Taupe seems to have a hint of rose and gray mixed in with that branch-like hue. It's a bit enigmatic, but the color payoff is surprisingly pretty, making it my second favorite after No. 11 Dim Brown. The staying power is quite weak, almost disappearing after eating. Personally, I'm not a big fan of staining, so I don't mind, but if you're expecting any kind of staining effect just because it's part of the 'ink' series, you'll be disappointed. Despite being a lipstick, it doesn't leave much of a tint at all.
