To cut to the chase, I'm extremely satisfied! I'll definitely buy more when new shades come out. It's like a glossy color lip balm, which is trendy these days. Compared to a typical color lip balm, the pigmentation is much more vivid - it has the color payoff of a lipstick, but applies so smoothly and melts into the lips that it feels like a lip balm. Comparing it to Rom&nd's Melting Balm, this one is far less sticky. Rom&nd's feels tacky, which personally puts me off, but this product glides on with an oily smoothness. Wakemake's Glaze Stick is less sticky than Rom&nd's and applies with a bit of grip, but Lip Monster is even less sticky than that. The product with the most similar application is another Japanese product, Opera's Lip Tint. It applies smoothly with almost no stickiness, and unlike semi-liquid formulas that don't retract, this solid type is more convenient. Where Lip Monster outperforms Opera is in color retention (staining). While these smooth, balm-like products feel comfortable on the lips, they often fade quickly, which can be disappointing. But Lip Monster's color lasts quite long! The color applies precisely and stains well, giving a tint-like effect. The only downside is that if you don't touch up the lip line occasionally, it can look a bit messy as if the line is breaking down. I used shade 01 Clump of Desire, which is a cool-toned pink with a hint of cherry. You can apply it lightly for a subtle color, or layer it for a more intense look. The first swatch photo is taken under indoor lighting, and the second in natural light for reference. For daily wear, you'll be satisfied with any of shades 1-3. Shade 1 is a cool pink, 2 is a warm coral pink, and 3 is a nude beige pink - all three are charming and pretty in their own way. While the packaging is plain and it's not exactly cheap, I'm thrilled with the formula. It applies comfortably without any burden on the lips, has excellent pigmentation, and gives a natural, smooth sheen (not as intense as the 'tanghulu' shine of sticky glosses, but still beautiful)... It's a lip product I reach for often.
ConsThe all-black packaging makes it difficult to distinguish between colors if you have multiple. The shade name is also written very small on the bottom.
