I got the Kate Lip Monster after hearing it's hard to remove, and let me tell you, it's the real deal! Other lipsticks and tints I've tried that claimed to be long-lasting always came off, leaving just the lip line. But this one? It truly stays put - I was amazed! The staying power is incredible, and the color is versatile enough to wear like a everyday lip balm. What's more, the absorbs is incredibly smooth. It glides on so effortlessly, it's a joy to apply. I think it'll be perfect for summer water activities too. Highly recommend! There's not really anything to complain about. If anything, there are so many shades available that finding the perfect one for you might be a bit challenging. But honestly, that just makes me want to try them all! - si******Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 12, 2025
This lipstick has been my shining star since winter. I've never used a lipstick with better application. It gives a hydrated lip look, and with just a couple of swipes, it's moisturizing and the color payoff is beautiful. When I recommended it to my friends, they called it a legendary lip product. I haven't found any downsides yet. I plan to keep buying it and might even try other shades. Layers well - ze**********Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 14, 2024
I heard this was a big hit in Japan, and I already own four colors. To cut to the chase, I'm extremely satisfied! I'll definitely buy more when new shades come out. It's like a glossy color lip balm, which is trendy these days. Compared to a typical color lip balm, the pigmentation is much more vivid - it has the color payoff of a lipstick, but applies so smoothly and melts into the lips that it feels like a lip balm. Comparing it to Rom&nd's Melting Balm, this one is far less sticky. Rom&nd's feels tacky, which personally puts me off, but this product glides on with an oily smoothness. Wakemake's Glaze Stick is less sticky than Rom&nd's and applies with a bit of grip, but Lip Monster is even less sticky than that. The product with the most similar application is another Japanese product, Opera's Lip Tint. It applies smoothly with almost no stickiness, and unlike semi-liquid formulas that don't retract, this solid type is more convenient. Where Lip Monster outperforms Opera is in color retention (staining). While these smooth, balm-like products feel comfortable on the lips, they often fade quickly, which can be disappointing. But Lip Monster's color lasts quite long! The color applies precisely and stains well, giving a tint-like effect. The only downside is that if you don't touch up the lip line occasionally, it can look a bit messy as if the line is breaking down. I used shade 01 Clump of Desire, which is a cool-toned pink with a hint of cherry. You can apply it lightly for a subtle color, or layer it for a more intense look. The first swatch photo is taken under indoor lighting, and the second in natural light for reference. For daily wear, you'll be satisfied with any of shades 1-3. Shade 1 is a cool pink, 2 is a warm coral pink, and 3 is a nude beige pink - all three are charming and pretty in their own way. While the packaging is plain and it's not exactly cheap, I'm thrilled with the formula. It applies comfortably without any burden on the lips, has excellent pigmentation, and gives a natural, smooth sheen (not as intense as the 'tanghulu' shine of sticky glosses, but still beautiful)... It's a lip product I reach for often. The all-black packaging makes it difficult to distinguish between colors if you have multiple. The shade name is also written very small on the bottom. - i_***Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 29, 2024
Coming back to this product after trying others... First off, the color is perfect for me. I'm really satisfied with its long-lasting power! If you apply it, blot with a tissue, and reapply, the staying power is incredible! It doesn't emphasize dead skin cells either (unless your lips are in really bad condition, of course). The packaging isn't attractive at all... I'm always worried about smudging when closing the cap. Also, the formula is extremely soft, so you can feel the lipstick going on even with just one light swipe! Soft formulas tend to get messy inside the tube. You'll need to clean it often... - ni******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJul 7, 2024
It applies moisturizing and the water barrier doesn't disappear quickly, nor does it stain unevenly! If you apply it thinly, it's a long-lasting natural lip look, and when you're wearing makeup, applying about 3 coats makes it look really pretty. It's a bright pink lip, so in photos I've applied it by gently tapping. When applied with just sunscreen on bare skin, it stays put until I get off work! It's a lip product that doesn't come off even when eating, so I tend to use it as a base layer. It turns into a desert when exposed to air conditioning. If you apply 3 coats in a row, it pills and clumps... - ff****Normal SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesRecommendedJan 5, 2024
I can't find any flaws with this product. It applies beautifully without causing dryness, doesn't transfer, and has excellent staying power. The color is gorgeous too. I'm 100% going to repurchase! The packaging doesn't give off a luxurious vibe, but other than that, I can't think of any drawbacks.
