After using it for over a year, I can say it hasn't caused any major issues or problems for my scalp. I've never experienced any blemishes on my scalp or hair, nor any dead skin cells or dandruff. The cleansing effectiveness is also good. I felt the soothing effect more on my scalp than on my hair. If you find your hair becoming too stiff, you might want to try using a conditioner or look into some hair essence products.
