First off, it's perfect for those of us with dry skin who dislike heavy or sticky formulas. I used to stick to watery toners even in winter because I hated thick, viscous ones. As you can see in the photo, my face was practically a desert! But this Yam toner, while fluid like water, provides noticeably better hydration than other hyaluronic acid toners I've used before. It's excellent as the first step in my skincare routine. It's similar in concept to that famous mochi toner from another brand, but with a much lighter texture - which is exactly what I've always wanted! I apply it twice all over my face after my exfoliating toner, making sure to shake it well first. It absorbs quickly, which is great for impatient folks like me. I've experienced no irritation or blemishes from using it.
ConsThe reason I deducted one star is that it might be too light for a product targeting dry skin. While I love this texture and appreciate the hydration it provides, those looking for a deeply moisturizing toner for very dry skin might find it lacking. Even for me, I don't feel fully hydrated until I reach the ampoule/essence stage. Also, while I don't notice it on my face, there's a slightly fishy smell on my hands after application. I always wash my hands after completing my skincare routine, so this wasn't a major drawback for me. One more thing, and this is a complaint about the entire Yam line's product information: The age range for their clinical trials is noticeably higher than for other cosmetic products (20 women aged 45-60). Since skin tends to become drier with age, I feel that comparing 'before and after' numbers for this age group might not be particularly meaningful.
TipRemember to shake well before use!
