I was hesitant due to reviews mentioning darkening, but I decided to buy it because of other positive feedback and the pretty cushion design. It's great as a summer cushion for combination skin. When I tested it on my hand, the darkening seemed severe, so I almost didn't use it. However, after applying a moisturizing base and sunscreen, it looked fine on my skin. It didn't darken but blended naturally with my complexion. I was worried shade 19 might be too light when I swatched it on my hand, but when applied all over, it wasn't too bright and gave a natural finish. I'm glad I didn't get shade 21 as I might have regretted it. In summer, if you keep your base skincare hydrating, it maintains a dewy complexion throughout the day. It takes a bit of time to set, but I didn't notice any fading due to sweat from the heat while wearing makeup. The coverage is the best among cushions I've tried - worthy of the YouTube raves. Compared to other popular cushions, this one felt like a semi-matte, starting off dewy and then setting to a matte finish. Unlike some others that caused deep dryness, I never experienced that with this one in summer, and the coverage was excellent. While hand swatches in summer showed another brand looking prettier, when applied all over, I couldn't really tell the difference in skin appearance between the two cushions. The downside is that it's difficult to control the amount of product. The formula is quite saturated when you tap it, but the puff is too thin. I recommend buying a thicker cushion puff than the one provided by Banila Co. Due to the difficulty in controlling the amount, it's not easy to recommend to beginners. If you're new to makeup, I suggest trying other cushions to get used to the application method before using this one. I switched to another brand's puff, but since it's not specifically for this cushion, it sometimes gets product on the mirror and can pop out if opened incorrectly. Also, if you brush your teeth right after applying, small water spots might appear on your chin, so you need to wait for it to set. Another minor issue is that the shade has a pinkish undertone, which isn't ideal for those who prefer yellow or neutral bases like me. First, make sure to do thorough skincare. I recommend switching to another brand's puff for application. It's crucial to carefully consider the shade before purchasing to ensure the best results. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 5, 2024
The staying power is decent and it doesn't break down easily. It doesn't darken significantly either, so I'm generally satisfied with it. The puff that comes with it isn't particularly great at applying the product evenly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 14, 2024
I love that it's not drying. The color looks natural and doesn't cake. It gives a beautiful complexion. It seems to darken the skin slightly. The puff isn't great, to be honest. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 30, 2024
Since I don't have many blemishes on my skin, I found the coverage to be quite satisfactory. When applied thinly with the right amount, it looks absolutely beautiful. I'm in love with the packaging, and the magnetic closure is a fantastic feature. The puff isn't as good as those that come with other cushion foundations. I'd recommend using your own preferred puff instead. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 3, 2023
Coverage is decent. Can be applied precisely. The packaging is simple and attractive. Touch-ups are challenging (cushion leaves marks or pills). Initially, it's difficult to control the amount. Adherence to skin is low. Cushion keeps sticking to the mirror (gets dirty quickly). Coverage isn't particularly high or exceptional. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinOct 8, 2023
The coverage and color are both great. The staying power is pretty good too. Plus, you get a generous amount of product. It tends to settle into nose creases a bit. When it breaks down, it doesn't look particularly flattering. The puff applicator is also slightly inconvenient. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 2, 2023
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I'm really satisfied with this product! There's no deep dryness, and the staying power is pretty good. It's definitely worth trying out. There's a slight issue with it settling into pores, and the included puff isn't great, so I'm using a different applicator. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 30, 2023
It's just so good! No darkening occurs, and I really like it. Nothing bad to say. Why are you asking? Haha! Well, the puff is a bit subpar, but if you replace it with something else, it's great. Try using a different puff. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 21, 2023
The coverage and complexion correction are absolutely fantastic! The staying power is also incredibly good. I've been using it since summer, and with just one thorough powder application, I didn't need any touch-ups throughout the day. The puff is really subpar... It picks up too much product, absorbing excessive amounts, making it seem like it's barely applying to the skin. Those with dry skin should be meticulous with their skincare routine before applying this. There's a slight feeling of dryness that can't be ignored. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSep 19, 2023
This is the best cushion foundation I've ever tried. It absorbs well and provides great coverage, so I highly recommend it for oily skin types. The cushion inside is quite firm, making it difficult to gauge how much product is being picked up. This makes controlling the amount a bit challenging.
