Guerlain Parure Gold Matte is a foundation for those who want a natural yet radiant and velvety finish that looks like their own skin. Coverage: You can build up the coverage as desired by layering it evenly. Apply a thin layer, pat it in with a puff, then repeat the process. This method provides enough coverage to conceal blemishes, freckles, and dark circles without needing a separate concealer. Longevity: Despite its lightweight feel, it has impressive staying power and makeup retention. I have combination dehydrated skin with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks, yet this foundation doesn't get excessively oily and maintains its appearance throughout the day. Skin Glow and Adherence: While it has a semi-matte finish rather than a dewy look, it adheres well to the skin. This results in minimal pilling and contributes to its long-lasting wear. Overall Impression: A little goes a long way with its excellent coverage. Usually, matte products can look heavy, emphasize dead skin cells, or accentuate fine lines. However, Guerlain Gold Matte gives a radiant, velvety finish that looks like your own complexion but better. I'm thoroughly satisfied with how it makes my skin look naturally flawless. I'm so satisfied with this product that I don't have any particular complaints. - rk******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 9, 2025
The adherence is truly excellent. It applies smoothly and clings to the skin effortlessly. Despite being a matte product, it absorbs well, and when applied, it makes you realize why luxury brands are in a league of their own when it comes to complexion enhancement. The high price point is disappointing. Also, not recommended for those who prefer hydration or have dry skin. - ki******Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedOct 29, 2024
The formula is lightweight and adheres perfectly to the skin. It seems to have good staying power as well. Since it has a matte finish, you need to thoroughly moisturize your skin before applying it. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsRecommendedFeb 26, 2024
As a long-time fan of Guerlain foundation, I can't really find anything else that compares. It has great coverage and excellent staying power. If I had to point out a downside, it might be that it can occasionally look cakey when my skin isn't in the best condition. - pu******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 19, 2023
I don't know what possessed me to buy a matte foundation when it doesn't usually suit my skin, but I'm glad I did. I apply it in this order: watery essence, Hwahae Base Prep, hydrating sunscreen, then foundation. Perhaps because my face is well-moisturized, it applies smoothly without any issues. It feels like it adheres to the skin, and true to its name, it's matte but doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. I'm not sure if this is due to the foundation itself or the Base Prep underneath. It covers pores seamlessly, has amazing staying power, and doesn't darken at all. Even on hot, humid days, it barely breaks down and doesn't lift. One pump is enough, so it should last a while. I've been using it consistently lately and honestly can't find any downsides. If the shade matches well, it seems like a truly excellent foundation. After thoroughly moisturizing your skin, applying it with a brush helps it go on thinly and evenly.
