For those with a lot of dead skin cells on their lips, make sure to apply a generous amount of Vaseline before bed!

At first it was fine, but as I used it more, the cap seemed to loosen up. Now it keeps spinning around in my bag. Unfortunately, while Mary's Soda products generally have beautiful color payoff, their packaging tends to open easily or leak.

As someone who always insisted on moisturizing lip products, I stumbled upon this one on Instagram... The color was so beautiful that I decided to try it as my first matte lip product. It turns out the hype wasn't just false advertising! The color payoff is gorgeous, and it's so velvety that I didn't have to worry much about it transferring. That being said, it's not completely transfer-proof. Coming from using moisturizing lip products, I was really impressed with this level of performance!

This works best as an accent color. Instead of using the applicator tip and then blending with a brush (which can lead to patchiness) or your fingers (which can stain them), I'd recommend applying directly with a brush. By the way, the middle shade is called 'Second Red'.

It's not as simple as swiping it on with the applicator tip. You need to blend it out, even with your fingers, for an even application. The staining happens quite quickly, so you might end up with patchy color if you're not careful. Also, the colors are much more vibrant than expected, which can be surprising.

The texture is truly amazing - it applies like a water tint but becomes matte with just a bit of blending. Unlike other products that can feel heavy no matter how well they apply, this one glides on smoothly and sets to a matte finish, which I absolutely love!

It applies with a velvety texture, but if you're not a fan of a slightly rich feeling on your lips, you might not enjoy it. The cap tends to twist easily... It doesn't open completely, but I've noticed it slightly unscrews in my bag.

The color payoff is beautiful, with a lovely pink-red hue that's not overwhelming. It stains well, true to its original shade, and most of it comes off with regular cleansing. I appreciate that it's not too drying on the lips.
