When I applied it to my eyes, it set immediately, so there's no need to hurry with smudging it with your fingers. The formula allows you to evenly spread it out. As it dries, it becomes matte, but the color doesn't move around or create creases! True grays or those with a lot of white in them tend to look patchy and almost dusty when applied, but the slight brown undertone in this one allowed me to wear it alone just fine. The remaining color payoff was great, and I was able to achieve the autumnal, muted color spectrum I was going for, which was perfect since the weather has been getting colder and I've been wanting a more subdued makeup look. (I was previously obsessed with the ultra-low-saturation vibe of the Rom&nd Dusty Fog Garden palette, and heard layering can help reduce chroma, so this was a welcome opportunity.) I paired this with a slightly icy, powdery glitter eyeshadow and a deep purple shimmer shadow, and while there was some fallout and color transfer, it was only about 80% rather than a full 100%.
Cons[Cons] The quality of the eyeshadows I used to complement this primer was a bit lacking. Mattes and finely-milled shadows tend to blend better with the base and stay in place more effectively. The primer worked best with shadows that had a more textured, pearlescent finish.
