It gently exfoliates without irritation. Using this product leaves your skin texture smooth and refined! I didn't find any downsides while using it. I'm definitely planning to repurchase! - se********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 27, 2025
I hadn't used a peeling gel in ages, not since a friend gave me a Dr. J one years ago. But recently, I decided to give it another try. Here's why: My skin is slightly combination-dry (and sensitive too). I've been stressed about these white, sebum-like plugs stuck in my skin between my eyebrows, around my nose, and in my eyebrows. They looked like whiteheads, but weren't quite the same. I thought, "Well, since it's sebum, maybe using oil will help?" So I consistently used cleansing oils and such, but nothing worked. Even though I don't wear heavy makeup, cleanse thoroughly, and take good care of my skin, those stubborn white sebum plugs just wouldn't budge. I tried various pore packs for sebum control, but they didn't do much. Then I spotted the term "peeling gel" on Hwahae and thought, "Oh right, I should give this a shot!" So I just picked one from the top-ranked products. I knew a bit about LHA ingredients, so I felt good about my choice and didn't overthink it before buying. Long story short, I'm satisfied. My skin doesn't feel tight or itchy, and most importantly, as you can see in the attached photo, a lot of those sebum plugs have cleared out. Masks and oils never made much difference, but for me, this peeling gel seems to be the answer. There's not really anything to complain about... Just be careful when you first squeeze it out - if you're not gentle, too much product comes out at once. The texture is as smooth as finely ground porridge, so it's not irritating. If you're worried about using it on dry skin, you can gently pat your face with a towel after cleansing to leave it slightly damp. Personally, I used it on completely dry skin after just rinsing with warm water. - eh******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 27, 2025
I use this twice a week, and my skin definitely feels smoother after use. The instructions say to use it on dry skin after cleansing, but when I gently roll it on slightly damp skin, the exfoliant seems to clump up like little balls of dead skin cells. Fortunately, after rinsing, my skin feels smooth with almost no deep dryness. It's a bit uncomfortable how much it clumps up before rubbing it in, making it feel like it's all dead skin cells. You can use it more gently by slightly dampening your palms before application. - re*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 14, 2025
Ah, I tried the Hwahae products and found them to be much less irritating. There's no redness or stinging, and while I was using them, I wondered if it was really working, but it turns out it does exfoliate well. The thick, heavy feel is unfamiliar. I don't need to use it anymore. I use it once a week. - gj********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDark CirclesRecommendedApr 22, 2025
It's okay, nothing special. Just average. In my opinion, exfoliating gels might not be the best choice for those of us with super sensitive skin. If you have sensitive skin, proceed with caution. - ha***********Dry SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 12, 2025
Recently, my skin was feeling rough and I noticed some blemishes, so I decided to try this exfoliator. Unlike other exfoliators that tend to drip down your face as soon as you apply them, the Anua product has a texture that stays put. I also appreciated that the scent wasn't overpowering. After using it, my skin feels smoother and more refined. I can't think of any particular drawbacks to the Anua exfoliator. I'd recommend using this as the first step in your skincare routine, before cleansing. It helps remove dead skin cells and impurities, which can make your regular cleansing more effective. - ji********Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedDec 13, 2024
It was great for gently exfoliating even sensitive skin, removing dead skin cells without irritation Those with oily skin might find the product too mild and feel it doesn't effectively remove dead skin cells I recommend this as an introductory peeling gel for those new to exfoliants or those with super sensitive and thin skin! - ll*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 5, 2024
It was gentle and didn't cause any irritation. It felt like it was exfoliating by clumping together and removing dead skin cells. I suppose you need to use it for a while to see results. I can't tell the difference yet. - do*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 14, 2024
It gently exfoliates without causing any irritation. My husband and I use it together. There's nothing disappointing about it. I need to use it a bit more, but I like it so far. - xo*******Dry SkinInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedOct 1, 2024
I've only used body scrubs before, so this was my first time trying a facial exfoliator! I was worried it might irritate my skin, but I never felt that way while using this product. I use it about twice a week, and I love how it makes my skin feel cleaner and fresher! There wasn't really anything I disliked about it! I'm planning to repurchase soon. I use cleansing oil followed by the Anua peeling gel, and I can really feel it removing dead skin cells and impurities effectively.
