Then I discovered Maybelline New York's mascara, and I've been using it almost daily! To be honest, I wanted to see if this product really curled well and lasted long, so I tried many other mascaras too. But in the end, I always come back to this one. When I first saw it, the packaging caught my eye, but now it's my holy grail. The unique wand shape was intriguing and actually makes it easier to control the amount. I was worried the intense black might be too much, but it lengthens my lashes so naturally - I was amazed! And don't even get me started on the staying power... it's just incredible. As a student, I leave at 8 AM and get home around 5 PM, and throughout that time, there's no smudging, and the curl holds perfectly!

I've been applying Maybelline mascara fixer first, then layering this mascara on top. By using the clear mascara to shape my lashes how I want, then lightly coating with the black mascara, I found it much easier than using mascara alone! If you often get mascara on your eyelids or under-eye area, try this method.

What could be both a pro and a con is that it dries quickly. If you try to apply multiple coats, it can clump and become cakey.

1. However, the curl doesn't last 100%, it's probably around 75% retention.
I may have applied it too thickly since I don't like that look. 
But compared to other mascaras I've tried, this one has pretty good holding power. The fact that it stays curled even with my naturally stiff brows suggests its curling ability is decent.

2. When I close my eyes, my brow hairs touch the area under my eyes, so it inevitably smudges there. Is smudging unavoidable for people whose eyes crease when they smile? Or is it the mascara's fault?
Do some people not have their brows touch the under-eye area when they blink or smile?
Anyway, at least there's no powder fallout, which is a relief.

2. I don't like the clumpy, globby way of applying mascara, but this is natural! (based on one coat)
