A soft brown lip color without yellow or red undertones. It has a slight rosy tint, making it appear as a brown-dominant rose-brown shade. It's like a slightly softer and more hydrating version of BBIA's Last Velvet Tint #36 'Pretending to be Okay'. If that shade suits you, this Maximal Brown should work well too. Though it's velvet, it's a moisturizing velvet formula with zero dryness. As time passes, it develops a slight sheen, minimizing transfer even when drinking. While it doesn't stain heavily, I personally prefer lipsticks that allow for clean touch-ups, so I actually like this aspect. Being hydrating, it applies smoothly regardless of how you spread it - whether with a tool or your fingers. I also appreciated how it shows up true to color. As for the scent, while the previous Over Velvet line had a caramel popcorn fragrance, this Gallery line has notes of vanilla and sweet fruit. The scent intensity seems milder, with the vanilla barely detectable. This is a plus if you're not fond of strong fragrances. Personally, I find it works well both alone and layered, so I don't have any particular complaints.
