The foam lathers well and the cleansing effectiveness is good. It leaves my hair feeling soft. I have an oily scalp, so when I wash in the morning, it starts to get greasy by afternoon. This seems to work better for me than the green tea shampoo. The green tea one made my hair too stiff, so I think I'll give that to my husband to use. There weren't really any downsides.
