I bought and tried this product because I heard it's good for skin blemishes during menstruation. The pill size is quite large for me, as I generally have difficulty swallowing tablets. - ni******Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 23, 2023
Gamma-linolenic acid is one of the few supplements I take, despite not generally trusting supplements (the other being calcium, which I take consistently due to being on oral contraceptives). I've actually experienced its benefits firsthand. I started with a liquid form, which was effective but inconvenient to take and produced a lot of waste. While it was a quality product from a reputable brand using good ingredients, it was also quite expensive. When I stopped taking it for a while, my PMS symptoms became really pronounced. My PMS symptoms include binge eating, depression, anxiety and restlessness, irritability and sensitivity, and stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. These usually start appearing about two weeks before my period, and for me, the difference between taking and not taking gamma-linolenic acid was quite noticeable. I purchased this product at a discount through the menstrual tracking app I use. Compared to the product I started with, this one comes in soft, small capsules with no smell or taste, making it much easier to take. The previous one I took had added ingredients to mask the characteristic smell and taste of the main component, which I found off-putting. The ability to take it cleanly in capsule form is a big advantage. At present, the only downside is the price. This supplement is practically essential for me, and while it's less expensive than what I was taking before, it's still quite pricey. I bought it on sale for 21,000 won, but the regular price is around 30,000 won. I take it along with my oral contraceptives to ensure I don't forget. I started taking it a month before my expected period and began to feel the effects after about two weeks. Since menstrual-related issues can vary greatly from person to person, it's crucial to carefully observe and record your menstrual cycle and when PMS symptoms appear to maximize the effectiveness. Observing and recording your menstrual cycle is also a way of paying attention to yourself, so don't feel burdened by it. I recommend downloading a period tracking app and consistently recording all menstruation-related information. - yu******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 7, 2023
<Review after taking for about a month> ★Writer's Profile★ • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms (about 10 days before period): back pain, breast sensitivity, depression, irritability, headaches • Severe menstrual pain (blemishes, back pain, headaches, abdominal pain, irritability, sleep disturbances, depression, lethargy, decreased memory/concentration, anxiety, loss of appetite due to severe cramps, etc.) ------------------------------ ★Advantages★ • Elimination of menstrual pain and PMS symptoms I actually bought this supplement just for PMS relief, but it not only improved PMS but also completely eliminated menstrual cramps. It's truly amazing and I'm so moved. I used to have such severe menstrual pain that it interfered with my daily life, but now the pain is completely gone. It's unbelievable... This is the best. I expected some improvement, but it just eliminated the pain entirely. For reference, it's famous on the menstrual app He*moon, so I bought it ------------------------------ ★Areas for Improvement★ • No noticeable effect on mental symptoms of PMS such as mood swings and sleep disturbances • Did not see improvement in blemishes ------------------------------ ★Conclusion★ • Despite some shortcomings, I'm 100% willing to repurchase As someone who really struggled with menstrual pain and PMS symptoms, this is truly a game-changer! • If you have severe menstrual pain, I absolutely recommend this! A world without pain is truly blissful. + Additional info... To be honest, I didn't take it consistently for the whole month. I bought it about 2 weeks before my period and started taking it then, but it still worked! However, for the best results, I recommend taking it consistently. ((It's been about two months since I bought it, and I still haven't finished one bottle because I've been taking it on and off. After taking it for 3 weeks and seeing results, I forgot about it for a while. Then, when PMS symptoms returned 10 days before my next period, I remembered and started taking it again. The symptoms disappeared the next day. It's really the best.)) - so*********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 13, 2023
The capsules are on the smaller side, making them easy to swallow. You're supposed to take 2 capsules a day, but I like that you can adjust the number based on how you're feeling. Compared to evening primrose oil of the same dosage, borage oil seems to have a higher gamma-linolenic acid content. I can't really think of any downsides yet... I haven't been taking them for very long.
