I have extremely blemish-prone skin with severe acne marks, an oily complexion around shade 25, and a bit of deep dryness. I stumbled upon this cushion at Olive Young and decided to give it a try. Now, for the positives: The coverage is absolutely fantastic, and being a matte cushion, it adheres to the skin beautifully. The staying power is impressive! Personally, it was a tad light for me, so I'd recommend this for those with complexions around shades 22-23.
ConsTo cut to the chase, it wasn't quite perfect for me. While I absolutely loved the coverage, my skin tends to have some dead skin cells, and this cushion seemed to accentuate them a bit. I used this in autumn, and if I didn't prep my skin properly with skincare, it had a slight tendency to separate.
TipI'd recommend using skincare that helps with exfoliation before applying this cushion. It's best to apply it when your skin is slightly hydrated. Everyone's experience may vary, but personally, I noticed it emphasized dead skin cells and had some separation issues. Therefore, I'd suggest this for those with oily skin types, especially during spring or summer. It might work better in those seasons!

Having switched from a cushion that caused significant darkening, I'm even more pleased that this one doesn't have that issue. I'm planning to buy refills as I'm sure I'll continue using it. As someone with very dry skin, I was worried when I heard it was slightly matte, but if you establish a solid hydrating base, it doesn't look cakey or dry out. It works hard to provide deep moisture without pilling.
ConsI bought the pink base as I thought the yellow base might be too dark, and it's my first time using it. It seems the color selection can be a bit tricky depending on your complexion. While it's not a major drawback, choosing the right shade feels a bit ambiguous.
TipFor those with dry skin, if you apply this over a well-hydrated base, I think you'll be able to use it without any patchiness and achieve a dewy finish.

But if these are the only pros, you can imagine there might be quite a few cons!
ConsThe darkening effect is totally off. If you try to touch up, it gets even worse. And if you sweat even a little, you'll experience the magic of your skin tone becoming even darker than before.

But as someone with extremely oily skin that's practically dripping with sebum, I wasn't worried. Let me share my experience: I was amazed at the skin finish this cushion could achieve. The coverage is fantastic. It does apply a bit thick, but considering the coverage, it's acceptable. As it wears, it breaks down into a beautiful, natural glow. When I met my friends wearing this, they complimented me on how good my skin looked!
ConsThere's honestly nothing to complain about. Even if you forced me to find a flaw, I couldn't.
TipDepending on your skin type and makeup style, this cushion could be your holy grail or your worst nightmare. If you have dry skin but typically layer on skincare products generously, I'd recommend it. Also, if you don't mind slightly heavier coverage and prioritize concealing blemishes, this is worth trying.
