The pads have a gauze side and an embossed side. I used the gauze side for a mask and the embossed side as an exfoliating toner. The gauze side isn't rough, so using it as an exfoliating toner wasn't uncomfortable. The built-in tweezers and their storage compartment are a bit tricky to open, though. These pads are incredibly hydrating, as if they're packed with moisture. They absorb well and cause minimal irritation, making them perfect for daily use. However, they didn't noticeably shrink my pores. There's a slight richness after using the pads, but it's not bothersome. I'd recommend these pads to those with dry or combination dehydrated skin!
