A friend recommended trying the Hanarin shampoo, saying it's good for those concerns. So I decided to give it a try and purchased it. *Volume - There were two 500ml bottles available, but it's a bit pricier compared to regular shampoos. *Texture - It has a thick, white consistency that's different from typical shampoos. I was worried it might not lather well, but it actually foamed up nicely. *Experience - Many say it feels gentle after washing. People mention that it helps get rid of scalp issues. I like the subtle fragrance that lingers after shampooing. While long-term use is needed to see full results, so far it's non-irritating to the scalp and lathers well. Since people are saying their hair seems to be falling out less, I've decided to continue using it for a while.
ConsIt might be good to use a little conditioner or treatment after shampooing. There's a slightly stiff feeling when rinsing.

Due to laziness, I developed seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp, and even some circular hair loss patches appeared. After an extensive search for a shampoo good for seborrheic dermatitis and hair loss, I found this one. Most anti-hair loss shampoos have a tea tree scent, which I dislike, but this product has a subtle, soap-like fragrance that I appreciate. With my long hair, I usually need to lather twice, but with just about 8g of this, I get rich foam and can wash in one go. After drying, my scalp feels cool without generating heat, which is crucial as seborrheic dermatitis doesn't respond well to heat. I used to clog the drain with hair, but this shampoo noticeably reduced hair fall. While it's only been 4 days and my seborrheic dermatitis hasn't fully cleared (which can't be expected from shampoo alone), my dandruff has significantly decreased. The thick layer of flakes has thinned out quickly. I'm satisfied with finding a shampoo that addresses both issues, especially after two days of research. It's working well for me so far.
ConsUnfortunately, as I have extremely damaged permed and bleached hair, it feels quite dry after shampooing. While this indicates thorough cleansing, using this shampoo alone isn't enough - you'll definitely need to follow up with a treatment. My husband finds the shampoo alone sufficient, but for long, permed hair like mine, a treatment and proper aftercare are essential.
TipShampooing tips for seborrheic dermatitis & hair loss: Lather well and gently massage the scalp with your fingertips, not nails. Focus on the scalp, avoiding rubbing hair strands together. Use the foam to cleanse hair by gently squeezing, not rubbing strands against each other to prevent damage. This product produces rich lather, so a small amount suffices. Rinse more thoroughly than usual. Fortunately, this shampoo rinses out easily, leaving the hair squeaky clean. After washing, don't wrap your hair in a towel - that creates a damp environment. Instead, immediately dry your hair thoroughly with a towel. Again, avoid rubbing the scalp with hair. Gently pat the scalp with fingertips as if giving a salon massage, and pat the hair dry. Then use a hairdryer. The cooling sensation on the scalp post-shampoo is pleasant and beneficial, as heat isn't good for seborrheic dermatitis. Dry your hair completely. As someone who's successfully treated seborrheic dermatitis with just shampoo, I can't stress enough that proper aftercare is crucial. The shampoo acts as a booster, but it's not a standalone solution. I'm extremely particular about shampoos, having spent years and a fortune on various treatments. It all comes down to choosing the right shampoo and following proper aftercare and drying routines. For seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and hair loss, it's vital to keep the scalp dry. Using a suitable shampoo is a good start. This is my personal experience, so please use it as a reference.

It seems like I'm losing less hair too~!
ConsPerhaps because its cleansing power is so strong, my hair feels a bit stiff after washing.

As someone with long hair, I used to be terrified of the amount I'd lose every time I washed it. But after using this product for about a week, the amount of hair falling out during each wash has noticeably decreased.
ConsAt first, I found the texture quite stiff and it didn't lather as much as I expected, so I had to use a larger amount each time.
TipTry using this shampoo on your scalp and a regular shampoo for the mid-lengths of your hair! It helped reduce hair fall and also managed tangling and stiffness.

I'd like to emphasize that I didn't use it solely for the review, and I plan to use the entire bottle consistently. Just wanted to clarify that upfront! 🩷 Why I chose this product 🩷 I'm a shampoo nomad. Thinking body acne might be affected by shampoo, I've been using silicon-free or low-silicon options. The issue was my scalp getting oily quickly and the lingering scalp odor, leading to multiple hair washes daily. Strong fragrances irritated my scalp, and the smell would resurface after blow-drying. While searching for a new shampoo, I discovered Nad's and Hanarin. Hanarin contains fragrance, so I initially tried the more natural Nad's. Still unsure about settling, Hanarin shampoo appeared on The Hwahae Testers - perfect timing! 🧡 Usage period 🧡 From Thursday, October 17th (evening) to Wednesday, October 23rd (6 days, excluding Monday) 🩵 Post-use review 🩵 Honestly, I'm amazed! Despite having average hair thickness and no family history of hair loss, I became conscious of hair fall after seeing my ex use anti-hair loss shampoo. I was particularly concerned about thinning around my part. The results were shocking: - Oct 18 (Fri): Hair fall reduced by half. Noticeable difference! - Oct 19 (Sat): Further halved. Unbelievable. - Oct 20 (Sun): Only three strands fell out. Wish I'd taken photos! - Oct 21 (Mon): Skipped wash - Oct 22 (Tue): Hair fall similar to Oct 19 (two days' worth) - Oct 23 (Wed): Similar to Oct 19 and 22 Overall, a 60-70% reduction in hair fall. It's so effective, I'm questioning if I actually had a hair loss problem before! The fragrance is heavenly 🌱 - a spa-like experience. And it lathers wonderfully (two pumps are enough, though I used four on the first day).
Cons💜 Room for improvement 💜 Despite its benefits, there are noticeable drawbacks. The hair becomes increasingly stiff with each use. Without conditioner, it feels like straw. It's puzzling as my hair texture isn't typically poor. By the seventh day, washing felt like I was dealing with a broom. Is it causing dryness? Also, despite the gentle fragrance, it seems to irritate my eyes slightly. I'm not sure why.
TipWhile I don't have a specific usage method, I highly recommend using a conditioner or hair treatment alongside this shampoo. It seems genuinely effective for hair loss concerns. If addressing hair loss is your primary goal, you might consider using Hanarin and supplementing with other products for additional hair care needs. I switched to Hanarin mid-way through using Nad's, and I'm committed to finishing the entire Hanarin bottle!

As someone with seborrheic dermatitis, my scalp usually gets oily after just one day. But with this, my scalp stays fresh even the next day. 2. Pleasant fragrance. I've tried many anti-hair loss shampoos, but this one has the best scent. It has a lovely floral aroma that's quite refreshing. 3. Improves scalp dead skin cells. Despite washing my hair daily, I used to often find flaky patches with tiny holes. After using this, I've only seen it once. I usually leave the shampoo on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing, and without changing my routine, just switching products, the improvement in dead skin cells was the most noticeable change.
Cons1. Thick consistency and doesn't lather well. Being an anti-hair loss shampoo, it's thicker than regular shampoos and doesn't create much foam. However, this is typical for anti-hair loss shampoos, so it didn't bother me. (This could be a matter of personal preference) 2. Related to point 1, due to its thickness, using a conditioner or treatment is essential. Without it, your hair can easily tangle.
TipLeave the shampoo on for about 3 minutes before rinsing, and make sure to use a conditioner or treatment. Otherwise, your hair might become dry and damaged quickly.

Honestly, I can't really comment on the fragrance After about a week of use, I feel like I'm shedding less hair I used to lose a handful when washing and drying combined, but now it's reduced by half The itchy scalp symptoms have disappeared too, which is quite amazing~ I think this shampoo might work even better with continued use...!
ConsIt's too drying, unfortunately Even though my hair isn't in great condition, I've never used a shampoo this harsh before So you absolutely need to use a scalp treatment with it Only by using both a scalp treatment and a hair treatment does it become somewhat manageable
TipFor a healthy scalp and to prevent hair loss, let's try using a combination of Hanarin shampoo + scalp treatment + essence

I was worried about dandruff during the changing seasons, but after using this product for just a week, it was under control. Now my scalp is clean and fresh! I was concerned about battling dandruff all autumn and winter, but I'm feeling so relieved and happy now. Fragrance I didn't expect much from the scent, but it's surprisingly pleasant! It's similar to the bath salts I often buy in Japan... It's not your typical shampoo fragrance. While it's hard to describe scents in words, it's a subtle and sophisticated aroma. Though the scent doesn't linger for long, it's so enjoyable while it lasts after shampooing. Lather The texture is quite unique. It's an opaque white color, and compared to other shampoos, it's thicker? Not watery, more of a creamy consistency. However, it lathers up really well (see photo). There's absolutely no issue with it not foaming up or anything like that. Anti-hair loss effect Since I haven't used it for very long, I can't really comment on its effectiveness for preventing hair loss. However, given its excellent cleansing power, I believe it will keep the scalp pores clean, which should help with hair loss prevention. Unexpected benefit After using this shampoo, my hair dries much faster. It's really amazing. The time I spend using the hairdryer has significantly decreased.
ConsHair after use Because of its strong cleansing power, your hair doesn't feel silky smooth and flowing after use. It feels a bit stiff. Fortunately, it's not too bad for the hair itself, but the closer you get to the scalp, the stiffer it feels. Maybe it's because I have particularly unruly straight hair. (I've found a solution though, which I'll mention below ↓)
TipSince my hair feels a bit stiff near the scalp after use... I use a scalp and hair treatment with a similar consistency alongside the shampoo. And I make sure to apply essence to the lower parts of my hair. Doing this leaves my hair adequately soft and my scalp feeling fresh and nice.

I even tried changing my parting as suggested, but the area where my bangs and parting meet was so sparse you could see my scalp. I was really worried about hair loss. However, after using this shampoo just 5 times, I noticed a significant decrease in hair fall. Before, when I'd run my fingers through my hair, several strands would come out, and after washing, there'd be a clump in the drain. Now, that's greatly reduced!
ConsIt's clear that anti-hair loss shampoos, with their added functionality, tend to feel a bit more 'stiff' compared to regular shampoos you'd find in stores. I've tried various anti-hair loss shampoos, and while the degree varies, most have this quality. After the first use, my hair felt a bit rigid when drying, but not to the point of needing an essence. After 2-3 days, it seemed like my hair had adapted and it wasn't uncomfortable anymore. The effect might vary depending on your hair condition. Since I haven't had any recent perms or dyes, my hair isn't damaged, so I didn't notice a huge difference. But if your hair is more damaged, you might find it a bit drier or stiffer after washing.
TipIn my rush, I'd rinse off the shampoo as soon as it lathered well. But reading the instructions, I noticed it says to leave it on for about 3 minutes after lathering. Wanting to get the full benefits, I started massaging it into my scalp and leaving it for 2-3 minutes before rinsing. It feels even more refreshing this way!

When it gets really bad, I resort to medicated shampoos from the pharmacy. Key features: White, emulsion-like texture similar to body lotion. No fragrance. It seems you need to rub it vigorously between your hands before applying to get a good lather. Review: Regular shampoos often make me scratch my scalp excessively, but after using this, the itchiness is significantly reduced. I'm always on the lookout for shampoos with minimal chemical ingredients, and this one didn't disappoint. The packaging is quite unique - a square bottle that fits nicely on the edge of the bathtub. Since I use shampoo daily, it runs out quickly, so it would be great if they offered a larger size.
ConsIt doesn't lather as well as some other shampoos, and there's a slightly dry feeling after rinsing. However, this can be addressed by using a conditioner. Overall, it seems to be good for the scalp.
