If you're using the Avène line, I recommend using it at night in this order: mist - Eau Thermale emulsion - serum. That seems to work well!

While one pump of the dropper is enough for the whole face and it absorbs well, it feels sticky. No matter how much I try to make it absorb (using both beauty devices and hands), it pills when I apply other products on top.
