Pros
Based on my experience using it from 2023 to 2025, the Hwahae Toner is great!! The formula is a bit heavier than a typical toner, and it has a dense, creamy texture. If you apply it 2-3 times lightly before makeup, it helps the makeup apply well. It's not irritating to the skin, and it also works well as a pack when applied to a cotton pad.
Cons
The downside is that it feels a bit sticky since it is so chewy.

Pros
My skin feels so smooth and supple after using it. It absorbs quickly and makes my skin feel so plump. When I apply my base makeup on top, it adheres so well - it's just heavenly. My base makeup seems to adhere better, and I feel like it lasts longer and has less creasing. This toner truly lives up to its name as a 'makeup-adhering toner'!!! And it apparently contains brightening ingredients too, because my complexion does look more radiant. I didn't experience any breakouts or significant irritation. The pink packaging is also so pretty, don't you think? 𐔌՞⸝⸝ʚ̴̶̷̷ · ʚ̴̶̷̷⸝⸝ ՞𐦯 I use this every time before doing my makeup and I hope it never gets discontinued.

The price is a little bit on the higher side..? But since I only use it before my makeup and use a different product for my evening skincare, I think I can get good use out of it and it's not too much of a concern. And the PHA exfoliating ingredient really does make my skin feel so plump and smooth, so I'm not too worried about long-term irritation. Nowadays, it's hard to find products without BHA or AHA anyway. I'll just make sure to diligently apply a nourishing barrier cream in the evenings. For now, I'm just happy that my makeup applies so beautifully on top of this toner.
Tip
I like to use this 'makeup-adhering toner' right after my water-based toner and essence, letting it absorb for about 5 minutes before applying my base makeup. Pros
After cleansing, I always apply this toner first, and it's really great. I've tried many highly-rated toners, but this one is truly pore-refining and doesn't leave any tacky or greasy residue on my skin, which I really dislike. It doesn't feel slippery or sticky, so the following skincare products I apply don't feel like they're sitting on top of my skin. I haven't found a toner as good as this one. The volume is quite large, so the price-to-quantity ratio is great, and the quality is excellent. I have dry skin, and my sister has extremely oily skin, but it works well for both of us. I have sensitive skin, and even a small misstep in my skincare routine can cause breakouts, but this toner doesn't trigger any trouble like that. This is my go-to toner.
Cons
There's really nothing bad about it... The packaging is so pretty, and the user experience is so great... Even if I try hard to find a flaw, I can't think of any.

First of all, the formula is truly well-absorbing and dense! I would recommend using it as a pre-makeup moisturizer rather than as a cleansing balm!! I have combination skin with dry cheeks and oily T-zone, and I found it not too heavy and quite nice!

It definitely feels more taut and firm compared to other brands. The bottle is so pretty, and when you apply it, there's no oiliness at all - it's filled with moisture and has no shine whatsoever, just a lovely, supple texture.
Cons
I bought it because everyone on YouTube was raving about how amazingly taut it is, but it's not actually that intensely taut.
Tip
I soaked a cotton pad thoroughly and rubbed it on my nose, which was quite rough and uneven, for 30 seconds, and the stubborn sebum was smoothed out nicely. The blackheads are still there, but at least my nose feels much more supple now.
