It doesn't cause breakouts and seems to have a calming effect (I noticed my blemishes were soothed after applying it before bed, though it could just be time passing). I don't typically wear much makeup, but it doesn't cause pilling with sunscreen. When I layered it with sunscreen and cushion foundation, everything absorbed well without any patchiness (usually my skin is prone to makeup not adhering properly due to dehydration).
ConsIt doesn't quite tackle the dryness effectively! There's a fragrance that's not to my taste (it's not overpowering, but I prefer fragrance-free products).
TipRecommended for use before applying base makeup. It's better suited as a makeup base rather than for everyday skincare. Instead, apply your regular moisturizer, then sunscreen, followed by your makeup routine.

My pores started becoming more noticeable due to acne and other skin issues, excess sebum production, and facial heat. When I was using this product morning and night, I didn't notice, but after not using it for quite some time, my pores became so much more prominent again...!! Oh no! I guess you don't know what you've got till it's gone... For those who couldn't use other retinol products due to irritation or have concerns about pores, give this a try. I had a bad reaction to a high-concentration retinol before (even though I gradually increased from a low concentration), but this one is gentle... As long as you don't apply it directly to extracted acne areas, it doesn't sting! It's also great to use before makeup - it doesn't cause pilling or make your foundation look patchy. That being said, it's not a magical product that will make your pores completely disappear, so don't feel deceived if you don't see instant results. Keep using it consistently, and you'll really notice a significant reduction in the appearance of enlarged pores, especially on your cheeks!
ConsIf you have combination dehydrated skin and use this cream alone, you might feel some deep dryness. While it has a slightly rich texture, it's not moisturizing enough to combat dehydration... For best results, use a light hydrating serum or mask before applying this cream - they work great together!

The scent is pleasant, and despite containing retinol, there was no irritation. The gratis was also great. The pores have visibly shrunk to the naked eye. While the number of pores hasn't decreased, their size has definitely reduced. Absorption is decent, pretty standard for a cream. The texture is a rich cream. It lacks moisture, so it's best to apply a hydrating cream in the previous step. The scent is neutral. It's neither artificial nor completely fragrance-free. The moisturizing effect is really good. If you address deep dryness in the previous step, you won't feel dry at all. I don't recommend using it in summer though. Use it in fall or winter. Wrinkles seem to fade well too. It's not dramatically noticeable, but I feel like my forehead wrinkles have diminished somewhat.
ConsIf applied without a moisturizer, there's a bit of deep dryness. It feels slightly heavy on the skin. After some time, oily areas can become a bit shiny.
TipMake sure to address deep dryness before applying. Apply a moisturizer before using this product. As it's a retinol product, only use it at night.

But my skin is like a sunfish - if I use just any cream, my oil and moisture balance goes haywire and my skin freaks out. I've emptied 3 bottles of the pre-renewal retinol and bakuchiol cream, so I decided to try this beautifully repackaged renewed version. Thankfully, it suits my skin well! I didn't experience any sensitivity or irritation when applying it. Perhaps due to its 'Pore Shrinker' name, I did feel a slight tightening sensation around my pores.
ConsUnlike the pre-renewal version, I noticed some deep dryness shortly after application. To combat this, I either apply a second layer or top it with a different hydrating cream. Despite its 'Pore Shrinker' name, I didn't really notice any significant effects in terms of pore reduction.

As a consumer, this is the most significant aspect of this product.
Cons- Even after building up your skincare routine, you might still feel deep dryness. I had to apply a separate hyaluronic acid serum underneath to prevent feeling dehydrated.
TipTo use this without experiencing dryness, you must apply a product that effectively addresses deep hydration in your base skincare routine before using this.

However, the low concentration also means less potent effects. Let's be real - even multiple laser treatments at a dermatologist can't completely reverse enlarged pores, so expecting miracles from a low-concentration retinol product is unrealistic. It's best to use this with the mindset of preventing further pore enlargement. That said, for super sensitive skin like mine or retinol beginners, this product is a godsend. Even though my skin doesn't tolerate centella asiatica, I could slather this on like a regular moisturizer without any irritation.
ConsFor some reason, it feels incredibly oily when first applied, but that sensation disappears quickly. Then, the deep dryness sets in... LOL. If you have dry or combination dehydrated skin prone to deep dryness, you'll need to layer a thin coat of another cream on top.

But after using it for about a month, I didn't experience any! No blemishes popped up or anything like that.
Cons1. I bought this hoping it would have an effect on my pores, but I can't really see any noticeable difference... (I think results may vary depending on individual skin types!) 2. Even after layering toner multiple times and applying serum to make my skin completely hydrated, when I apply this cream, it actually feels like it's making my skin more dry. Because of this, I'm not applying it all over, but just focusing on specific areas like my forehead, nose, and smile lines... I wish it was a bit more hydrating, which is slightly disappointing.
TipAs mentioned in the drawbacks, it might be best to apply this only to specific areas!

ConsIt doesn't address deep dryness. Those with dry skin might find it insufficient when used alone!
TipFor best results, apply after prepping your skin with toner pads, essence, or serum for maximum hydration!

At that time, I wasn't sure about wrinkle improvement, but it definitely helped with blemishes. However, it was too drying and worked by shedding dead skin cells, making it difficult to use consistently. After that, I avoided high-concentration retinol until I saw a YouTube ad for a gentle retinol. I've now used over 3 bottles of this product. Honestly, I can't say I've noticed significant wrinkle reduction or pore minimization. However, I feel like my skin texture has improved, so I continue to use it regularly.
ConsWhile it's true that this is more hydrating than most retinol products, as someone with dry skin, using this cream alone doesn't address deep dryness.
TipTo combat deep dryness, I've been using half the amount of my regular moisturizer and then layering the Mamonde Bakuchiol Cream on top.
