NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil Review Skin Type: Dry / Pregnant Application Area: Primarily abdomen Usage Duration: 1 week Application Method: Spray ⸻ Pros: • Wide and even spray distribution Hygienic and quick to use without having to dispense onto hands. The wide spray pattern makes it easy to apply and spreads evenly on the skin. • Subtle radiance + Smooth finish When applied to the abdomen, it refines skin texture and imparts a softening effect. Provides just the right amount of suppleness to pregnancy-induced dry skin. • Versatile multi-purpose oil Can be used on face, body, and hair, making it convenient for various areas with just one product. → Especially beneficial for areas prone to stretch marks like the belly, thighs, and under the chest. • Absorbs quickly with minimal stickiness True to its "dry oil" name, it doesn't leave a greasy residue and absorbs rapidly, making it less burdensome even in summer. Drawbacks: • Scent may be intense (for pregnant women) While normally the sophisticated fragrance is a plus, pregnancy can heighten sensitivity to smells, potentially making it seem overly oily and heavy. • Somewhat lacking in moisturizing power As it's more focused on imparting a glow rather than hydration, it may not be sufficient on its own for long-lasting moisture or stretch mark prevention. • Potential for overspray Direct spraying can lead to oil getting on clothes or floors, so careful application is necessary. It's safer to dispense into hands or spray from close range. Usage Tips (for pregnant women + dry skin): 1. Apply right after showering while skin is still damp, or immediately after applying cream → Spraying on slightly wet skin enhances absorption and hydration while reducing the oil's characteristic heaviness. 2. Layer with creams to boost hydration → Reverse the order by applying NUXE first, then following with an unscented moisturizing cream to increase lasting hydration while neutralizing the scent. 3. Avoid spraying from too far away to prevent waste! Spray close and spread with hands → Spray directly onto skin in close proximity, then massage in with hands to reduce product waste and prevent staining clothes. - lo**********Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 15, 2025
I was curious about this famous oil, and I must say, its fragrance and texture are truly captivating. It's a versatile multi-use product that can be applied from head to toe, which is quite convenient. However, there are aspects that might divide opinions. The absorption is incredibly smooth, gliding effortlessly onto the skin. It's a dry oil formula with minimal stickiness, making it feel light and refreshing. This makes it suitable even for summer use without feeling heavy. It absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving no greasy residue. There's hardly any lingering feeling on your hands after application. It works well as a body moisturizer alternative, and when lightly applied to hair, it doesn't make it greasy but instead gives a subtle glow. The downside is that the hydration doesn't last very long. For those with dry skin, using this alone isn't enough - you'll need to layer it with other products. - kl*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 16, 2025
In the winter, if you mix body lotion and apply it, your skin will not become dry and will become really moisturized. There wasn't really anything. However, my skin is sensitive, so that might be why it didn't suit me. Facial application is acceptable, but it may not be very good for oily skin. - bu**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessRednessRecommendedApr 26, 2025
- Not sticky at all True to its name as a dry oil, the finish isn't sticky and leaves a satin-like sheen that's simply radiant. - Extra hydration As we age, our skin tends to get drier. Mixing a bit with body emulsion after showering seems to boost the moisturizing effect. - Spray format I've tried pump-style oils, but found controlling the amount tricky. Since I'm not extremely dry-skinned, I prefer this spray for easy application of small amounts. - Lovely fragrance I absolutely adore the scent of Nuxe dry oil. But I realized how subjective fragrances can be when a male colleague said it reminded him of the lotion used in men's saunas - can you believe it? While I found that absurd, I guess it might smell that way to some. He must have found it quite strong. - Use only on suitable areas! It didn't suit my face, so I avoid using it there. I tried a small amount on my hair ends, but didn't feel compelled to use it often. So I use it solely as a body oil. It's a shame that it has limited uses for my skin type. - ga*****Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 25, 2025
I use this constantly except during peak summer since my skin tends to be very dry. When applied in the evening, it absorbs well and keeps my skin hydrated until morning. It doesn't sit on top of the skin but penetrates nicely. The generous amount lasts for ages! The scent is a bit bothersome, but not unbearable. Personally, I'm not a fan, but I suppose it's a matter of individual preference. - pb********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 20, 2025
I have dry skin with some deep dryness, so most products just sit on top. A friend recommended this, and I'm so glad I tried it! Applied as the last step before sunscreen, it creates a protective barrier that really helps with dryness. The best part? My cushion foundation used to separate around my nose, mouth, and philtrum, but this product visibly controls the dryness! It's amazing. Plus, it's versatile - you can use it on your body too, making it super practical. It might be a bit too rich when the weather gets hot, but I'll definitely use it year-round except for summer! The spray power could be a bit better, and the cap is slightly loose. But honestly, those are my only minor gripes. - 2f********Dry SkinRecommendedFeb 12, 2025
As someone with dry skin, I find this dry oil perfect for nighttime use. It absorbs well without any stickiness, leaving a nice finish. The luxurious scent is a delightful bonus that I absolutely love. I haven't encountered any downsides while using this product yet. In my opinion, it's a top-tier oil-based product. However, the scent might be a matter of personal preference. I discovered that applying it to my face when my hands are slightly damp helps boost hydration even more. - he**********Normal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 9, 2025
The scent is absolutely delightful - you could even use it as a perfume alternative. It's multi-purpose, so you can apply it anywhere. The hydration is pretty decent too. It leaves the skin extremely greasy. The moisturizing power seems to be less effective compared to emulsions or creams. It works great as a hair perfume substitute. It's also perfect for a refreshing boost after a shower! - do******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 7, 2025
<Feel and Hydration> This oil has a fluid texture that spreads easily. True to its 'dry oil' name, it absorbs without stickiness or excessive slip, leaving a silky finish. (Unlike barrier creams or balms from derma brands that blend oil and water to absorb into skin with a 'second-skin' finish, this oil sinks in quickly, leaving the surface feeling dry and smooth without residual stickiness or slipperiness.) As it's an oil, using it alone doesn't provide any hydration, so it won't address deep dryness. Apply it to damp skin or after hydrating products for best results. <Advantages> Mixing it with hydration-focused moisturizers enhances their effectiveness by adding nourishing oils. As a multi-use oil, it's versatile for face, body, and hair. The scent is perfect for winter - soft, nutty, with a hint of sweetness. I usually get nauseous from heavy floral or artificial sweet scents in beauty products (like those found in department store cosmetics sections - think Dior, Lanvin, Chanel perfumes or MAC lipsticks). While I can tolerate these briefly on others, I can't use them myself. However, I found the Nuxe oil pleasant to use daily, perhaps because I mixed small amounts with unscented products, diluting its base oil scent. The fragrance is quite strong, so even a few drops mixed into other moisturizers leave a subtle, long-lasting scent. <Drawbacks> It contains potential allergens and fragrances, so it may not suit those with super sensitive skin for facial use. As a dry oil, its silky, non-greasy finish might not work for everyone. Being a French import, it's pricey. Unlike domestic brands, it doesn't often have big or frequent sales. <Pro Tip> Mixing it with hydration-focused moisturizers helps balance oil and moisture while subtly adjusting the fragrance. - dj********Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJan 20, 2025
Usage period - One month Compared to Be**y B**n, it doesn't feel too slippery and absorbs well, which I really liked. The main concern with using oils is usually that they're too slick and might stain clothes or bedding, but this absorbs so quickly that there's absolutely no worry about that. I use it more on my body than my face, and it's good enough that you can put clothes on right after applying. It's also less oily than I expected, so I think it could be used even in summer on dry areas! Of course, in winter it seems like it could be used anywhere. This oil would be great for people trying oils for the first time or those who've been hesitant about them. I was skeptical too, being oily-skinned, but in the end, I'm satisfied. I think it would be good for all skin types, whether oily or dry. For oily skin, it would be great to use on dry areas like elbows - I can see myself reaching for it often. In my opinion, unfortunately, the scent seems too strong. Most people say it's nice though, so... I guess you shouldn't worry too much about it. I apply it mainly on stretch marks!
