However, there were certainly some downsides. Firstly, due to its hydrating formula, it felt a bit sticky right after application, which was particularly annoying on windy days when hair would stick to it. Also, it has quite a sweet, fruity syrup-like scent that might not be everyone's cup of tea. While the staining effect helps with longevity to some extent, the glossiness and intense color payoff mostly disappeared after eating. Given the bold and vivid color, it's prone to creating visible edges, so rather than applying it carelessly, you need to apply it carefully while looking in a mirror for a pretty result. It also tends to transfer a bit onto cups and masks!

I was so smitten with the color right after applying it that I bought five in bulk. I've developed a habit of stocking up on lip products for cool-toned dark skin since they tend to be discontinued quickly.

The color is a deep wine with red undertones, but it has a clear, transparent quality that doesn't look dull and instead gives your face a lively appearance!

The initial application feels incredibly smooth and hydrating, adhering well to the lips without irritation. Even without lip balm, it didn't feel dry.

The color payoff was surprisingly intense without being overwhelming. Layering it a few times created a deeper, more dimensional look, making it quite versatile. As time passed, it left a natural stain, so it never completely disappeared - the subtly tinted lips actually looked quite pretty. Above all, the value for money was really impressive. I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one in your collection without breaking the bank.

I absolutely recommend the Gye-Cool Dark shade. It's likely to suit almost all deep winter skin tones. It's exactly the wine-like color I've been looking for.

If you haven't exfoliated, it can pill and flake off like dead skin. Lip exfoliation is absolutely essential before application.
