Even after not washing my hair for a few days, I can work up a good lather just by rubbing it on my greasy hair. When rinsing, it feels squeaky clean like a freshly washed dish, but surprisingly, my hair doesn't feel rough after drying. I'm impressed that a vegan product can be this effective while also being good for the environment. I'm definitely planning to repurchase!
ConsAs someone with a blemish-prone scalp, I still got small pimples even with daily use. This isn't due to the ingredients of the shampoo bar, it's just my scalp type. Understandably, you can't expect deep cleansing from this product. I noticed that my hair color faded faster compared to other shampoos. The bar seems to wear down quicker and has less volume than liquid shampoos. It's a bit inconvenient that as it gets smaller, you need a soap holder, which is an extra hassle.
TipHowever, as expected with colored hair, using this alone makes my hair tangle easily and feel dry, so it's essential to use an essence or treatment afterward.

It cleanses thoroughly with a squeaky-clean feeling, and the lather rolls smoothly through the hair. However, you'll need to use a conditioner afterwards for softer hair. Scent: It has a light, inoffensive herbal fragrance. It's a subtle scent that likely won't polarize opinions. Cleansing effectiveness: Although it's for normal to dry hair, it provided sufficient cleansing power for my oily scalp. I'm not extremely oily, but my bangs and crown tend to get greasy by evening. With Donggubat's normal-to-dry shampoo bar, I noticed less oil production and a fresher scalp. Perceived benefits: Most importantly, I had some blemishes due to hot weather, but after using this product, they started to gradually disappear! I felt it effectively cleansed away excess oil and impurities produced during the hot summer. Donggubat is a social enterprise aiming to employ over 50% of its workforce from individuals with developmental disabilities. Recently, they fully compensated customers and partner companies affected by Tmon's no-exchange, no-refund policy (source: Donggubat website). Since the product quality seems good, those interested might want to give it a try.
ConsIt might be helpful to include information about other shampoo bar lines on the packaging. From a consumer's perspective, an easier way to access information about the product range seems necessary.
TipSurprisingly, it lathers well even when rubbed directly on the hair. Leaving it on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing results in an even more thorough, squeaky-clean wash.

However, I liked that it didn't cause any blemishes on my scalp. So, using this as a pre-shampoo or with a shampoo bar for oily hair might solve this issue! • The scent is described as grapefruit, but it's more like a heavy laundry soap smell with a hint of citrus. • I appreciated that even a small amount produces a rich lather. • Initially, it felt a bit rough when massaging into the hair, but after a few uses, it became smoother to apply. With consistent use, I noticed my hair becoming softer! • So far, it's holding up well without melting, and I love that there's no waste except for the paper packaging.
Cons• The only downside is that the scent is more like a heavy laundry soap smell rather than the advertised grapefruit fragrance.
TipFor those with oily hair, consider using this as a pre-shampoo or combining it with a hair vinegar rinse for better results!

The scent is almost unscented with a slight tea leaf aroma - I don't think it'll be polarizing! As someone with combination oily skin, I loved how it cleanses thoroughly without over-drying my scalp.
ConsIt's unavoidable that hair feels a bit stiff after using a shampoo bar. Using a conditioner afterwards seems essential.
TipMake sure to store your shampoo bar on a soap dish! Since it cleanses with foam, using a mesh bag is also a good idea.

It's more convenient to wash using just your fingers. * Scent: Nearly fragrance-free, both during washing and after drying * Drying: Despite having chemically treated hair, I hardly noticed any frizz even when air-drying with a fan. *(Added 8/25) With frequent summer showers, this is highly recommended for all ages and genders. The rich lather allows for an all-in-one shower experience. Personally, I sometimes use it to wash my upper body when I'm feeling lazy. (No blemishes so far!) Skin: While I didn't notice significant improvements in scalp acne or inflammation, it's gentle enough for my neck atopy. This shampoo is great for daily use on dry, sensitive skin types.
Cons- After three uses, the soap bar showed some slight cracking, which is disappointing. - It may not be effective in reducing redness from inflamed scalp conditions.
TipThe plastic lid allows for hygienic use. (Be careful with the lid as it fits quite snugly)

It lathers well and cleanses thoroughly. Compared to regular shampoos loaded with fragrances, this one feels safer ingredient-wise and seems much better for scalp health.
ConsThey claimed it had a grapefruit scent, but there's absolutely no trace of it. However, since fragrance ingredients are often problematic, this might actually be a good thing. Being a shampoo bar, it does make the hair feel a bit stiff. Although it's meant for normal to dry hair, the feel is more like a formula for oily hair.
TipUsing it with a foaming net produces plenty of lather and allows for a clean application. It seems essential to follow up with a conditioner after shampooing.

After all, it's not a proper hair wash without that foamy goodness! Stays firm I was concerned about it softening since it's exposed rather than in a container, but it's still in perfect condition after a week of use! Squeaky clean The squeaky clean feeling after use is remarkable. Other shampoos don't give me this sensation, but this shampoo bar leaves my hair feeling incredibly fresh and clean!
ConsSqueaky clean = stiff!? While I enjoyed the squeaky clean feeling, I realized it might feel like stiffness to others. Subtle grapefruit scent Although it's labeled as grapefruit-scented, it lacks the strong fragrance and lasting scent that many commercial shampoo brands emphasize!
TipFor those who dislike the stiffness, I recommend applying a bit of conditioner just to the ends of your hair as a finishing touch!

It rinses off cleanly, leaving a squeaky-clean feeling that makes your scalp feel refreshed. It's like a healthy shampoo bar. I first tried it on family members with short hair, and it feels cleaner and less slippery than regular shampoo. As someone with occasional blemishes and a scalp that tends to feel hot, I think this will be gentle enough for sensitive use. If you're looking to improve scalp health, this could be a great option.
ConsFor those with long hair, it takes a bit more effort and time to work up a lather, which can be tiring. Since you need to create the lather while applying it, rather than pre-lathering, it's a bit inconvenient for long, thick hair. It's more convenient for short hair. Being a soap-based product, it softens when wet, which is slightly disappointing. For long hair, not using a conditioner after this shampoo bar can leave your hair feeling stiff and a bit uncomfortable.
TipTo make lathering easier, try using it with a mesh bag. To prevent the bar from softening and to store it conveniently, use a soap dish or even a plastic bottle cap. While it leaves your hair squeaky clean, those with long or thick hair might find it leaves their hair stiff, so using a conditioner afterwards is recommended.

To be honest, I didn't expect much foam from a shampoo bar, but it produces even more lather than many liquid shampoos! It gives you that squeaky-clean feeling when washing. Also, I'm prone to seborrheic dermatitis and itchy scalp if I use the wrong shampoo, but I didn't experience any of those issues with this! Such a relief. The compact size makes it perfect for travel - just pop it in a mesh bag. The biggest advantage is that it's waste-free!
ConsThe scent isn't my favorite... But it's not overpowering, so it's fine. (I'm not particularly sensitive to smells, though perfumed shampoos can sometimes cause skin irritation for me.) I think a conditioner is absolutely necessary with this product. It cleanses so thoroughly that washing your hair feels a bit like scrubbing a rubber broom with water.

Initially, I thought soap might be overly drying or make my hair stiff, but that wasn't the case. It left my scalp feeling squeaky clean, while the hair itself felt about as dry as it would with regular shampoo. I guess that's thanks to the camellia and olive oils in the ingredients. If you want to try a shampoo bar and have normal to dry hair, I'd recommend this. You might think a soap wouldn't lather well, but it actually produces a rich foam. Of course, it's not as effortless as squeezing out liquid shampoo - you need to work it in a bit. Being low pH to reduce scalp irritation, it feels gentle on the scalp. As a bonus, there's a nice feeling of contributing to environmental protection by avoiding plastic packaging.
ConsIt's supposed to have a grapefruit scent, but I can't smell anything at all. It's more like unscented, or just a natural smell.
TipTo get a good lather, use one of those foam-enhancing nets sold at Daiso. Rub it vigorously and plop it on your crown - you'll get a satisfyingly rich lather.
